There is really no need for those who do not accept LDS Scriptures to delve into the depths of Eternal Laws that Brigham Young was conversant and familiar with. The fundamental teachings and Doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are contained in the authorised LDS Scriptures.

jsfisher: Yes, Michael helped to organise this earth under the direction of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father

Make and organize. Let's not forget the make part. Brigham Young said "make". Adam was a creator of this world.

...and had progressed to possess the authority to lead us with power and righteousness in the pre mortal war against Lucifer. Yes, Michael is the Adam of this earth and therefore our mortal ancestor.

You didn't address this part at all: Brigham Young said, "HE [Adam] is our FATHER and our GOD". Did he not mean Adam is our FATHER and our GOD? Those are the very words he used; it's hard to misinterpret them.

Was Brigham Young wrong when he made those statements? Even if he did misspeak, wouldn't God have whispered a holy erratum in his hear? After all, as high prophet, didn't he have the Almighty on speed-dial?

BY: Hello, God?
HF: Brigham, didn't I ask you not to call during nap time?
BY: Yeah, but this is important. I, um, well, may have said things about Adam....
HF: What sort of things?
BY: Well, um, that Adam created the Earth.
HF: WHAT?!
BY: Helped, I mean. Adam helped in creating the Earth.
HF: What is wrong with you, Brigham. I thought you were an intelligent sort. Why else would I set you up with such a cushy position with all the perks? And what you you do in return? You make Adam out to be a demigod, infringing on my exclusive domain.
BY: God, actually.
HF: I'm sorry, what?
BY: Yeah, I think I said something like, "He is our Father and our God."
HF: *sigh*
BY: Well, maybe not those exact words...
HF: *sigh*
BY: Ok, ok, those exact words, but I don't think anyone wrote it down or anything. It will probably all be forgotten in a few days.
HF: This is almost as bad as the whole papyrus thing Joseph did.
BY: Don't worry about that. Nobody will be able to translate hieroglyphics. That language is lost forever.
HF: Is it any wonder why I'd prefer you not drink alcohol. You lot are enough trouble sober.

Well of course not as it brings up so many really ridiculous and incongruent beliefs, doesn't it?

Brigham Young had how many wives? That would be about the extant of his knowledge of eternal laws. What a joke.

Looks like I may need to 'borrow' one out of a Marriott one of these days and read the insufferable thing.
I did something like that one time. I was staying at a place that had a BoM in the bedside table so I decided to give it a try. After 20 pages I just gave up - it was pure gibberish. Unreadable. I suggest you would have more fun jabbing an icepick into you right big toe.

Listen to Professor Steven Jones on K-Talk radio AM630 (Utah) on Thursday, 11 April. Steve will discuss his research on Equus in America before Columbus. 3pm - 5pm or so. This should be of interest to posters in this thread obsessed with this topic. :)

Yeah, 'cause it's not like you have the answers.

Would this be the same Professor Emeritus Stephen Jones who claims that the WTC Towers were destroyed by controlled demolition?

Do you suppose the transcript of his presentation will be available?

Ooooh I hope so. Maybe he also found some pre-columbian thermite paint-chips.

I did not know the Spencer Lake story.

“In this case those conclusions are testable. In 2002 I was contacted by Dr. Stephen Jones of Brigham Young University, a researcher conducting a project on the antiquity of New World horses. He was willing to provide funds for dating the skull using accelerator mass spectrometery (AMS) in order to settle questions regarding the skull’s antiquity. A single sample was removed by MPM staff from the aboral margin of the jaw near the gonion caudale. It was separated into three subsamples, one held as a voucher and the others independently submitted to different radiocarbon labs (Beta Analytic and Stafford Research Laboratories) for AMS dating. The samples were of approximately the same size and yielded results in close agreement. Beta 167209 yielded an uncalibrated date of 110 +- 40 BP; Stafford SR6189 yielded an uncalibrated date of 190 +- 35 BP."

Mormons did not notice this book and the people involved in requesting the testing did not print the results for other Mormons to see. Science worked, a theory was proven wrong but the results were not published by those who had hoped for a different outcome.

In 2005, FAIR made a video that included horses in America and the Spencer Lake Horse hoax was thought of as evidence for horses.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkydMSmv1Zo&feature=player_embedded

In 2008, a non LDS post graduate student informed FAIR of the error and provided them with the source for the 2004 radiocarbon results. Why didn't those who requested the radiocarbon dating of the skull publish the results? Why is the video is still on youtube? How many Mormon friends and family might see this video and believe it?
Apparently FAIR isn't interested in truth enough to take the steps necessary to correct their error.

Lying for the Lord.

I wonder if Janadele thinks it's okay to lie if it promotes other people's faith?

What is he going to talk about for the remaining 1 hour 59 minutes and 59 seconds?
I mean how long does it take to say : 'The Spanish brought them'.

I'm not sure it's possible to be obsessed with something that doesn't exist.

More information is emerging in answer to questions being asked in this thread...

This new TV series, Nephite Explorer, on KJZZ channel 14 in Utah and parts of Idaho and Nevada, is an action packed weekly travel journalism and adventure show... diving into scriptural history and prophecies about Latter-day America and running investigations from locations around the world.
Those interested can follow The Nephite Explorer Project on Twitter, Facebook or subscribe to updates by email.

Excellent. I always use TV travel and adventure shows as my source for scientific validation of various religious ideas.

In which peer reviewed scientific journals can I read this information, and - given that it would revolutionise the studies of archeology and anthropology in the Americas - why isn't it all over the news?

Such matters are of very little importance nor interest to me, however there are active Latter-day Saints who have researched these matters and provided answers, the links to some I have previously posted. Those with these obsessive questions need to read these sources for themselves.

Nobody here had an obsessive interest in Mormon fraud and propaganda but you keep providing that. Maybe you should take it to people who are obsessively desirous of wanting to be fooled.

Another Temple dedicated

The Tegucigalpa Honduras Temple was dedicated on March 17, 2013, the sixth Temple in Central America and the 141st working Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Temples are not regular places of Sunday worship. They are quite different from the thousands of regular chapels or meetinghouses all over the world. Anyone, regardless of religion, may enter a Latter-day Saint meetinghouse and attend services. However, because of the sacredness of Temples as “houses of the Lord” only members of the LDS Church who are in good standing are allowed to enter the Temples.

Honduran President Porfirio Lobo offered to broadcast the cultural event on the national TV channel and accepted an invitation to have breakfast at the Temple annex building. President Lobo also invited President Uchtdorf, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve, and the other visiting LDS General Authorities to breakfast the next day at his Presidential offices. http://www.lds.org/church/news/president-uchtdorf-dedicates-tegucigalpa-honduras-temple?lang=eng
