Merged The Origin of Two Different Colors of WTC Dust

OK. So far, so vague.

What particular tests would you carry out? Given a team of fifty top scientists and a serious research budget, what tasks would you set them? What would they actually do?

I'd determine the iron content of the dust more precisely.
I'd take better microscopic images of the dust samples.
I'd do comparative DNA analysis on the DNA in the samples,
and match them up with the victim's family database.
Different from almost any other 9/11 researcher, I'd continue
to focus on the differences between the different types of dust.

Like your no plane study, more silly nonsense. Where is your paper? 11 years, where is it?

Oops, USGS did a dust study, you are 10 years too late. Oops, RJ Lee did a dust study, over 10 years ago; where have you been?

Guess what, no foam steel was found. No tiny steel beams. There was lots of dust due to insulation, ceiling tiles, wallboard, concrete, and other things the WTC was made with.

I'd do comparative DNA analysis on the DNA in the samples,
and match them up with the victim's family database.

This alone makes it clear that you're doing nothing here but pulling some kind of weird, self-obsessed prank. If anybody really believed you had DNA material that might bring closure to victim families, they would insist you submit it for testing immediately...but if you really believed it yourself you would already have done so.

This schtick...it isn't clever, it isn't funny. It's sad.

OK...so now you have managed to occupy your team of 50 til about lunchtime on the first day.

Lunchtime?

When they hear that she dug it out of an breezeway, and had to remove cigarette butts from it. They'd be gone in 20 seconds.

Gee, wonder where DNA could have come from Tracy?

I'd take better microscopic images of the dust samples. OK
I'd do comparative DNA analysis on the DNA in the samples,
and match them up with the victim's family database. Right
Different from almost any other 9/11 researcher, I'd continue
to focus on the differences between the different types of dust. Hmm
OK, now we're getting somewhere. I make that 3 tasks for your team and the last one for yourself.

How many of your team of fifty scientists will you appoint to each of those jobs? I might suggest two to each so they can oversee each other's procedures, and then another 3 pairs to duplicate the work to make sure the results are consistent. The other 38 can make coffee and order the pizza.

Then on the following day, when the scientists have all gone home, what are you going to do with the accurate iron content, the detailed microscopic photographs and the degraded pigeon DNA results?

You are attempting to become a legend in your own mind...That's been determined.

I'd take better microscopic images of the dust samples.
As compared to what?
I'd do comparative DNA analysis on the DNA in the samples,

This has been done already....by professionals much more qualified than you

A claim that has no merit.

It's quite laughable, almost worryingly so All of that work would take me less than 3 hours. 1/2 - 1 hour to take proper images and about 1-2 hours on the SEM if that. Although I'd have to admit that I'd have to send a sample away for DNA analysis. How many scientists do you need to write the address on a jiffy bag?

Submit it to which research group?

OK...so now you have managed to occupy your team of 50 til about lunchtime on the first day.

The 50 people I mentioned would not be "my team". They'd be independent researchers, doing their own things. I'm only talking about some of the things I would do if I had decent funding.

You might not remember, but there are some good reasons to suspect that
the DNA is bona fide human DNA, and not a contaminant of any other species. It isn't randomly dispersed among all WTC dust types. It is either not present, or present at a very low level in the darker dust, the dust that came from the elevator shafts.

I'm probably the only biomedical scientist right now who is focusing on
9/11 research, so I'd be the one doing the DNA analysis.

That's probably true, and there's a reason for that. But I bet there's a few psych grad students doing research into the pathology of 9/11 truther/no-planers/sooperseekrit beamers.

Actually, I take that back because these represent such an insignificant data set as to be a waste of effort.

Interesting question.

I'd need a fairly large peer group for that. They would need to be
PhD level researcher scientists who have spent at least one full year working
on the same subject as I have. I'm being generous with the year, too,
because a scientist generally has much more than one year of experience
before being asked to participate in peer review on a topic.

Don't you think that you first need to give clear, convincing evidence that the dust you collected is primarily from the WTC collapse? What scientist would spend more than a year working on your hypothesis, absent some clear evidence that the dust itself is relevant to 9/11?

So, how would you convince folks that the dust came from 9/11 and that understanding the dust is essential to understanding what happened on 9/11?

If you're waiting for experts to volunteer their services just in case your remarkable hypothesis might be correct, you'll be waiting a long, long time.

You are mistaken about something. I said that several dozen INDEPENDENT researchers needed to be working on something in order to form a proper peer group. These people wouldn't be working for me or even on the same parts of the problem.

What problem?

To whom?

I wouldn't expect them to. I'd expect that these independent scientists would be working on whatever they were working on, as long as it was on the same subject of what destroyed the WTC.

.

I wouldn't try to convince "folks". One thing that I learned in getting my graduate degree in science education was that it is nearly impossible to teach something to a student who already has a lot of misconceptions. You have to spend most of your time getting rid of the misconceptions before even the slightest bit of real learning can occur.

My audience isn't the vast majority of people who think plane crashes destroyed the WTC. My audience is the small minority of people who already know this didn't happen. I'd probably have to spend some time convincing, if this peer group ever formed, but the level of misconception-busting would be much less. If you're stuck on the common story, you're pretty much too far gone for me to successfully convince you of anything, so I won't try.

Those people probably have very limited access to the internet where they're at.

Were you going for irony there?

There are some things that indicate that the samples I found are, in fact, WTC dust samples. First among them is the nature of the samples themselves. There are different types of dust, dark and light, exactly as what seen during the destruction of the WTC. Second, the samples were collected from a place less than 200 feet from Ground Zero. Third, the samples contain the iron fragments that other researchers found, as well as the fibers and other types of heterogeneity that other researchers found. Fourth is that the samples are a new material. Nothing like this metallic foam is in the textbooks. Fifth, the presence of DNA in some but not all of the different dust types is consistent with the events of the day, where people moved to the exterior of the buildings.
