No it is a main weapon used by poachers. But never let reality get in the way of your position. Hunters move with the time too.

You really think poachers use something exotic and expensive like a .600 NE?

No, but poachers throwing 100 rounds doesn't make an AK a "prime elephant hunting weapon".

And I've read ALL the gun threads... I haven't seen you let reality get in the way of your position.

Professional hunters are also used to hunt them for similar reasons in Australian. There are several other introduced pests. These include camels, water buffalo, horses, rabbits, wild cats, wild dogs and foxes. It would be good if you could also control numbers of cane toads, they have effectively wiped out many small predators, like lizards and snakes.

None on the uses suggested for assault rifles involve trophy hunting.
