Merged Bigfoot follies

He's selling known hoaxed casts as legitimate bigfoot tracks at conferences. It needs repeating for those skipping over my posts. I can't speak for anything else he does.

Well, we don't know that he accepts that those are hoaxed casts, so we don't know that he's anything worse than an idiot. (For the record, I think that there's little doubt that Meldrum is an idiot, since he attempts to perform science based on nothing more solid than his own beliefs, when he should know that he needs to provide objective evidence.)

My comment referred to the claim that Meldrum defrauded people through Kickstarter, which is not true if they got their money refunded.

My main point is that if we want others to stick to the facts, then we should set that example.

They were sitting in front of him with no name or attached incident assigned to them. He had several of each type, I remember cripple foot and a baby bigfoot print cast. When I first came here, Shrike said something about the prints being faked by a known hoaxer. I looked mine up, found the match, and it was indeed a Wallace print.
How much did you pay for it?
(I don't see much difference between people selling fake footprint cast replicas and people selling fake DNA study papers, btw.)

calwaterbear... I'm not going to waste time cutting up your post into individual quotes and answering each one. You're (not "your") not worth the time and neither is Meldrum.

I don't need to talk to Meldrum - I get the info from the horse's mouth by reading his books, "paper" and watching his videos and TV programs.

Meldrum can answer, refute, demand an apology, or challenge me to a duel at sundown, whenever he has the courage to register here and post.
I told you he referred to Parcher and Kit in a very derogatory way in one of his presentations to the faithful. That indicates that Meldrum is here or has someone reporting to him as Parcher's arguments were only on the JREF.
HMMM...It seems like Meldrum is refusing to eyeball the people he wants to deride too! You better get on that calwaterbear! :D

I also gave you an example of somebody refuting Meldrum face to face about "dermal ridges" and Meldrum still using it as defining evidence of squatch. You did not address that major point. Why?

Here's another one you can chew on: Meldrum also knows that a real honest to goodness expert (Hi Anton!) refuted the the "Skookum lay" and he still uses the Elk ass print as evidence without blushing.

Those examples show there is nothing to be gained by seeking the man out to personally debate with him. Over the years he has indicated no willingness to retract his BS when confronted with the evidence unless he is embarrassed in a very public way. (A case in point is when he fell for a ridiculous hoax video - gave it the "thumbs up" on TV - and then had to admit his error when the hoaxers 'fessed up).

I am not holding MikeG accountable for Meldrum's actions. Where do you get that ridiculous idea?

Why am I less accountable than you are?

.......But i do not believe Mike G should be held accountable for Meldrums actions, and thats what the original post was all about.....

Thanks CWB, I appreciate the support.

.......BTW - who appointed you Meldrum's legal counsel for this establishment?

Me? Accountable for Meldrum's actions? Interesting idea, as I have never read a single word written by the man, ever, nor seen anything he has ever done on film/ Youtube etc, have never had a conversation or an email with him, never knowingly been on the same internet forum, and never bought anything of, from or by him. I am not sure I know what he looks like. So yes, you're dead right, all I am doing is what I would do for anyone accused erroneously of a crime.......

I would ask the original flinger-of-mud if he would like to replace the word "Meldrum" with that of, say Hawkin or Dawkins, or Sagan or any other publicly known scientist, and then review the responses. And for anyone who is just automatically lumping me in as a Meldrum apologist in some uncontrollable Pavlovian manner, I'll take Dr Meldrum seriously when he has a proper peer reviewed paper published. Until then, I have nothing to read. Which doesn't mean that I give up my right to defend him or anyone else on the planet from false accusations of criminality.

This is a critical thinking forum. There are two elements to that phrase.

If I were to sell oak wooden boards and the product turned out to be cans of sliced carrots, then I would be in the wrong for selling you something I knew wasn't oak wooden boards.

So the question now is, does and did Meldrum know the casts he were selling were fake? The evidence shown so far appears to be that he did.

I think I paid 40, not sure. It's still sitting on one of my my bookcases glued together now.

Well he had to know the Wallace prints were hoaxed since his son described exactly how he did it and with what for so many years well before I bought my cast at that convention. And I agree with Shrike in that it is not exactly ethical to sell something you know isn't authentic as opposed to selling something that you aren't sure about, or believe is real.

More expensive than Ketchum's paper, then. Maybe you should ask Meldrum for a refund. After all, it's a fake and not even strong enough to make a single print!:)

Back to the Follies.

Anyone know why the Melba Ketchum Global Sasquatch Foundation website is down?

It's not down. Take the "\home" off the address and give it a shot. Well, that at least worked on Sunday when I went over to look. About 1/2 of the internal links on the site are broken or there is a security certificate issue.

EDIT: I stand corrected, even removing the extra information gets to the forbidden page. I wonder if it is because she was taking so much flak for the site.

Too bad it's down because it was the best bigfoot parody site ever.
