Nothing in there about specific species, it's about everything with a heartbeat. I'm sure if you look at it again, you can see how that could come off as a bit racist.

This stuff drives me batty. There's no reason for the slaughter of these animals. None. The frustrating thing here is with the collection of intelligence on JREF, you'd think more people would be for protecting the Earth's resources and creatures.
It's very frustrating to see otherwise smart people just project the impression that they either don't care - or worse - support the Japanese in these vile endevours. It's shocking.

Repeat after me. 12 Mile international limit. EEZ's are specifically for reserving or protecting marine life or mineral rights, not for restricting passage of warships or the escorting of commercial or other civilian ships under their flags protecion.

I don't support the Japanese but I think the antics of the Sea Shepard is making things worse instead of better. No nation likes to be forced to do something.

I strongly disagree. Their "antics" merely got them a television show, the side effect being increased public awareness.

What will actually stop the killing is if the Japanese government stops subsidizing the industry.
However, they're not going to do so if it would mean losing face. As long as these nuts are doing their stunts, Japan is not going to back down.

really, I didn't see anything about the killing techniques in the question. MY assumption of the question was that the poster was meaning would there be an objection if the whales were being farmed.
