Bigfoot DNA

OS, what happened? Did you get banned for posting the BFF's materials over here or is this a completely unrelated issue? You sound about like I did last year.

I got in trouble for posting some of their material here like you said, but my account is still ok for now. I used to ignore some of the criticism about the BFF, but now I see that you guys are right about a lot of the things there.

OS ~ There is a real BF that roams the land, I won't discount all the sightings and or encounters over the years, the thing is it's not a giant monkey that is responsible, it's known animals that either are demonstrating behavior that has not been caught yet or has been refused to be acknowledged by those that choose to see another reason, some advice if i can ~ go slow with what you read here and take the time to reason it out, you can't play both sides or it will eat at ya, choose what you know in your mind and heart and go from there.

Tim :)

Thanks,

Here what a Ketchum defender at Bigfoot evidence blog has to say

Talk about taking things out of context. Here is the section above and below the "quote" posted here.

"These putative hominins are reported to walk bipedally in a linear manner that is distinct from
humans (Figure 2). Eyewitnesses report that the Sasquatch are 8 to 12 feet in height, are covered
in hair with arms longer than those of modern humans and possess sloped anterior craniums with
short, thick cervical regions reminiscent of Neanderthals. Eyewitness accounts also describe an
opposable thumb with hands and feet that are large in comparison to body size.

The above commonly reported traits, as well as other scientific evidence lending credence to the
existence of Sasquatch, have been thoroughly researched and documented in both books and in
peer reviewed manuscripts.4-13 Although there have been thousands of sightings, footprint casts
and other circumstantial evidence of Sasquatch across the modern world for centuries,
incontrovertible proof of their existence has been elusive. The failure to present a deceased
individual or skeletal remains has exacerbated scientific skepticism towards the circumstantial
evidence."

No where in the paper does she make any claim that the April fools joke is legit. She just references it like the Epic of Gilgamesh and Daniel Boone. Since the joke discusses the appearance of yeti etc, she is supporting the claims of size etc. She even specifically says "incontrovertibal proof has been elusive". She uses no data from that joke to support her data that I could find.

This truly is, the most epic of failures...

The Bigfooters had their hopes built up, and then the rug was pulled out, and we find that Ketchum was playing them all along.

(to where have all the flowers gone)

Where have all the bigfoot gone

Long time passing

Where have all the bigfoot gone

Long time ago

Where have all the bigfoot gone

Scammers faked them every one

When will they ever learn

When will they ever learn.

No just having fun, the thread went into moderation because of disagreements mostly from outsiders, I think we all turned that around and are just having a breather, and some fun poking at the worlds longest running DNA hoax.

Seems I was wrong...
...or was I...?

Many months ago, at the end of 2010 or early 2011, there was speculation about whether and how one could seem to "prove" bigfoot through DNA analysis. Based partly on the Native American mtDNA mistakenly touted as bigfoots in the Snelgrove Lake fiasco, I speculated that one could, if one wished, obtain samples from some isolated tribal group that wasn't yet in GenBank, then possibly mail them in to an unsuspecting lab from post offices all over the country. That way, the lab would naively think that they had identified "novel" DNA from related individuals all over North America. Quite a theory, eh? Some people ridiculed my plan as too complicated, too expensive.

At that time, others raised the question of whether it was possible/feasible to artificially create DNA that could be mistaken for that of a sasquatch. I (and most others) quickly dismissed this idea as fantastically expensive and difficult to a degree that would put it out of the realm of practicality.

It appears that I may have been wrong on both counts. I haven't seen conclusive evidence that my scheme has ever been carried out, at least it hasn't been published. And it turns out that, for example, common bleach has been well-known to have powerful effects on DNA and on its analysis, though I am not up to speed on how bleach, with or without other reagents or treatments, might affect the results of some more recent sequencing techniques.

So, I was wrong.....although....we will never know for sure what might have happened had I kept my big yap shut.
