Merged No Planer calls for scientific study / Missiles of 9/11

You're using the length marked in purple here. The length marked in green is about 10 feet longer. If the plane impact wasn't exactly perpendicular, then the length that impacted the wall would be somewhere in between those distances.

I'm using the wingspan measurements and subtracting the distance from engine to engine and comparing it to the measurements of the tower.

Yep. No response. Figures.

You got lost in a sea of nonsequiters which could explain why you missed the answer to your post before you even posted it.

Ryan Mackey noted in his presentation that above 800 PSI on impact, at least some exterior columns are expected to fail. The corollary of that is that below that figure, they're expected to survive. As he worked out, that critical velocity ends up being 270 ft/s (185 MPH). That would make the critical "failure" impulse be around 6,500 lbf-s (check my math, people; I'm using the figures in the presentation Ryan gave)?

So, if all it takes is 800 PSI, 6500 lbf-s of impulse, 270 ft/s, and we have 4,600 PSI (AA11)/6800 PSI (UA175), 15,900/19300 lbf-s impulse, 650/790 ft/s velocity, you can say there is certainly more than enough mass, velocity, force, energy, whatever you want to use to cause column failure. The mass and velocities of the jets were far in excess of what was needed.

Now, I don't know what the losses from the wing failures would be (the "stress against the wing at impact/push agasint the inside of the wing on impact" ). I don't know how to even begin calculating that. But, if the claim is that they're significant - and why else ask the question if that's not the claim? - then there's the way for yankee451 to respond: Show that the wing strength was sufficient enough to significantly decrease the impact-induced impulse.

But stop and take a good, long look at how much excess force is available given the velocities involved first, before doing that.

Also:

No, of course not, but that's because above the 50th floors (roughly) of each tower, the core columns (which is what the pressure-impulse failure calculations for Figure 10-5 above were based on) were wide-flanged ones, not box columns. So Yankee451 didn't do his homework either in posting the wrong picture for the topic being discussed. But still, let's try to answer the spirit of the question despite his error and ask whether the general representation of columns for the calculations were accurately represented. And the answer is: Of course. The failure curves (NCSTAR1-2B, figure 10-5, p 376) are based on more than just isolated, individual columns material properties. It's based on loading as well, and if there's one thing truthers continually keep on ignoring when discussing column properties, it's the fact that they're being loaded by the floors above. That simply cannot be ignored. Figure 10-5 takes that into account.

Now, was it accurately modeled in Ryan's calculations? Again, of course. His "model" was merely using the columns to determine an impact area so as to calculate force and impulse. Given that he cited the correct figure - 14 inches - in his presentation (slide 19), and given that the figure Yankee451 showed says the same, then yes, he most definitely, demonstrably did accurately model it. He wasn't trying to model every minute characteristic - the NIST curves took that into account - he was merely determining the width. And he got it right. Confirmable by Yankee's own image.

Now (out of order):

Probably not, but again, see above: Whatever differences in distribution exist would not affect the impulse calculations significantly. If that's wrong, prove otherwise.

Ryan mackey modeled square boxes being struck by slugs of uniform density, thereby not proving anything other than he's dishonest.

THIS is how the columns were shaped:

A wing is not a "slug of uniform density" and the coliumns were not square boxes, and by citing it you have only proven you don't have a leg to stand on.

Some of the plane should have encountered a steel reinforced concrete floor or two which would have caused the following portion of the plane to detach and linger outside the building. Not unlike a bus or trailer running into an overpass.

bias against science, common with 911 truth followers

A bus going 590 mph?

V2 is a term in the calculation of energy, and you, and 451 ignore the physics, and remain with fantasy claims.

The WTC floors were light weight concrete, and did not stop the aircraft on impact. 4 inch thick floors. What can they stop. This is physics, where is your math.

Talk is not math, you offer BS you made up looking a 60 mph bus crashes. You did not try to do the math to understand the difference speed makes.

A 60 mph impact has 100 times less energy than a 600 mph impact. Feel free to comment and explain why you have the same bias against science as 451.

physics, not used by you, or 911 truth. 11 years, tick tock

Why do you insist on ignoring engineering models? By making fun of the engineering model it exposes your ignorance of physics. You essentially mocking science.

You have ignored the evidence from 911.
You ignore photos.
You ignore video.
You ignore passenger manifest.
You ignore the damage to the WTC, the exact shape of a 767.
You ignore RADAR data from multiple RADAR sites.
All of this is empirical data used to solve 911 11 years ago. You are given the answers, given 11 years, and come up with nonsense, and make fun of science. A most anti-intellectual stand.

...

Those are square boxes! 14 by 14 inches.

But there were planes. They have records right back to the manufacturers.

All the Airports they landed at have flight records, all the Pilots have records of the aircraft in their logbooks. Alll the service companies that worked on them have records, all the parts suppliers have records.
If there's one thing you can be sure of it is that the Civil Airline industry has comprehensive records of everything that is done to any aircraft and all the parts ever used on them.
So, we know the aircraft existed up until 911.
All the passengers and crew that were on them that day are also missing.

If the aircraft didn't crash as seen on 911, where did they go? Where are all the people?

My test will be better.
Your test will be exactly like your claims; failure.

Not according to the damage evidence.
The damage evidence proves it was an object the exact size, shape, and weight of 11 and 175. You see, the damage show the energy used, and that can be use to understand what hit the WTC.

Your own source uses math to show it matches a 767.

A report you found, proves you are wrong, and a plane can enter the WTC.

And you don't understand physics.
Then based on your Hard Knocks Common Sense, called fantasy kicks in, and you think
you debunked the MIT paper with silly comments. Comments which prove you don't
understand physics.

And, you ignore the very thing you want, empirical data, and make up a lie about the
data. You like to spread lies, to cover up your failure in science.
Empirical data for Flight 175.

You debunk yourself. Your fantasy has you ignoring reality, and spreading lies. What do you call people who spread lies? Why do you spread a lie about 911, and ignore evidence.

Not according to the damage evidence.

You mean the evidence which you ignore?

The evidence of plane parts in and around the crater?
The evidence of DNA-identified passanger remanins?
The radar evidence?
The FDR evidence?

Yes, if you ignore all the evidence, then you can make up fantasies in their stead.

Um, that's a "simple" model. Just in case you didn't notice.

I'd like to have your comment on these videos Yankee;

And this one;

Heck, he won't even provide a scientific analysis of why anyone should prefer missiles over planes to explain the crater, and his theory handwaves away all the other evidence. How the heck could all the inventoried debris have been inside a missile or two?
