I think I see the problem. You are quite unable to think for yourself, aren't you? My Canon ImageCLASS Model MF4350d copier has produced more original work than you.

That's really not what this forum is for.

You dont get to preach here. If you're unwilling to answer reasonable questions about the topic you created, then perhaps it is *you* who needs to move on.

This is a critical thinking forum - engage, or get off the pot.

I'm not sure you get to tell us where to go.
Let's try something else.
You say there have been personal attacks. Can you give an example of such, and explain why you think it is a personal attack.
And an example of bickering.
And an off topic nonsense post.
This is your chance to offer your own opinion.

Why do you keep saying this?

It's not a personal attack to call someone on what appears to be plagiarism. Plagiarism is just plain dishonest and morally wrong. To keep the discussion on topic I gave LDS doctrine in this post I even posted Elder Oaks' comments that plagiarism is a choice between good and evil.

What I'm still curious about is why you say you believe stuff, but you can't put what you believe in your own words? That just doesn't seem natural. I can post my thoughts on what I believe, so why can't you?

BTW, I want you to know that I did take your advice to heart. I was curious to see what the bishop would say. I couldn't talk to him as his appointments were all full, but I did get to talk to his first counselor and just for the record, he said I did nothing wrong in saying what I did. I didn't think so but I thought I'd ask for the fun of it. :)

:) These are the words of my favourite Hymn.

"O My Father,” Hymns of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, no. 292

O my Father, Thou that dwellest
In the high and glorious place,
When shall I regain Thy presence
And again behold Thy face?
In Thy holy habitation,
Did my Spirit once reside?
In my first primeval childhood
Was I nurtured near Thy side?

Music: James McGranahan, 1840–1907

Romans 8:16–17

Acts 17:28–29 (22–31)

Why should anyone care what your favorite hymn is? Are you utterly incapable of a single independent thought?

Are most LDS members pre-programmed non-thinking robots like you apparently are?

O Lord, please don't burn us,
Don't grill us or toast your flock,
Don't put us on a barbecue,
Or simmer us in stock,
Don't braise us or bake or boil us,
Or stir-fry us in a wok.

Oh please don't lightly poach us,
Or baste us with hot fat,
Don't fricassee or roast us,
Or boil us in a vat,
And please don't stick thy servants, Lord,
In a Rotissomat.
Monty Python, "The Meaning of Life"

This is my favorite hymn. It really encapsulates the futility of supernatural beliefs in comic score.

People are interested in discussing the evidence behind the teachings and Doctrines, not in the preaching of them.

Odd that someone who is not Mormon would come to a skeptics forum to try to show Mormonism in a bad light. If she's trying to keep people from becoming Mormon we're not exactly an "at risk" audience. Wouldn't it be better to portray Mormons as incapable of accepting reality where you might actually encounter people thinking of becoming Mormon?

Yes, I agree.
I'm intrigued why anyone would honestly believe there's a hole in the North Pole, or that the story of Noah is factual.

ETA.
My bad. Wrong thread, sorry about that!
But since I've blundered, what is the official stance of the LDS about the Noah's flood story?

63 pages and no one has linked to Mr. Deity's comments on LDS.
Time to remedy that ommission:

...what is your opinion as to when "Eve" and "Adam" lived?

...what is your opinion as to when the "Noachain flood" happened?

...where, inyour opinion, are these "International Internet Laws" you feel have been violated?

<songsnip>

Please explain what light this sheds on your opinion of when "Adam" and "Eve" existed; when the "Noachian Flood" happened; or when domestic barley, domestic cattle, domestic horses, and steelmaking were introduced in the Americas?

Please provide a source for the "International Internet Laws" of which you made a veiled threat.

Well, we already know that you are so brainwashed by your masters that you are totally incapable of thinking. I really do find that rather sad, but if it keeps you floopy then go for it. You have an entire non thinking life ahead of you. I am sure that your Masters will contain you within your pathetic little cage. So, just stay happy.

Discussing and questioning the veracity of the claims underlying Mormonism is not a personal attack, and it certainly isn't nonsense. If you think that you deserve to have a thread in which you preach Mormonism, and no one else comments except to agree with you, then you really are on the wrong forum.
