Bigfoot DNA

Does something sound...off about this:
"Hello, my name is Melba Ketchum. I made one of the greatest discoveries in decades but I'd undo it all if I could because people are mean about me on the internet."
:boggled:

She deserves everything she gets on the internet imo, anyone who blows their load telling everyone about their great discoveries without having anything to back it up deserves ridicule and general naysaying.

Anyone without an inflated ego would decide to just zip it until proper evidence could be brought forward to back up their claims.

This whole Bigfoot saga just reminds me of being in a schoolyard,

"I've got something to show you, it's great."

"So show me.."

"No, it's a secret, you can't see it yet.."

Then why talk about it? Load of Bollocks.

Surprise, it looks like Smeja shot a black bear, or found some black bear hide!

"Each lab independently identified only two contributors (the presence of DNA from only two animals). They identified the primary contributor as Ursus americanus (Black Bear), and the secondary contributor as Homo sapiens (Human). Download full report here."

The significance of this is to potentially deal the fatal blow to the Ketchum report, as she is said to have tested a Smeja sample and included it in her report.

Now, if she says that it is an unknown primate, and 2 independant labs say it is a bear, then her report is already defeated by the first law of science: replicatability (I think I just invented a word). I believe she is saying that her sample is visually different from the sample Smeja sent to the 2 labs himself, but she has also been given a chance to respond privately (prior to publication) to Trent University and demonstrate that the sample is different, and she has failed to respond.

The events move from amusing to farcical.

Maybe is was Sasquatch brand black bear, I would hate to think anyone would lie about killing a Bigfoot.

This is so far beyond "laughing" at I don't know what to do, Footers have hit a low I didn't think even existed.

Of course, he never said this was the animal he shot, he just found the sample while looking later in the spot he shot it.

Although next time someone comes up with the "How often do you find dead bears in the woods?" argument, I suppose the fact that you can coincidentally find a dead bear part lying just where you shot a Bigfoot 2 weeks ago could be raised.

The Smeja thing was easily predictable (as were the amusing claims of conspiracy, lab incompetence and jealousy that are all over the comments section)

some bleevers refuse to admit it was all a big scam

The funny thing is, Smeja will just make the excuse that he still shot a Bigfoot, but by the time he came back, the evidence was gone, he found the bear flesh, and assumed it was from the Bigfoot.

I imagine a bucketload of people will believe him, too.

There are already creative reasons being floated for the bear result.
- he sent a bear sample as a control
- he had so many samples in his freezer he accidently sent the wrong one for testing.
- <my favorite> a bear was chowing down on the bigfoots that were shot and killed when the papa bigfoot showed up and tore the bear to pieces. Smeja then found the bear bits, thinking they were from the bigfoot.

Yeah, I heard a similar one that has Smeja sending in the bear steak to throw people off the scent of the fact that he shot two humanlike Bigfoot...

Yes, the other bigfoot(s) removed their dead and left the bear parts to fool the silly humans.

Here is my scenario (not even to the level of speculation):

Smeja and Driver concocted an implausible story purposefully. The purpose was to misdirect attention by offering a convoluted and seemingly morally damaging narrative. This construction deflected attention from story veracity to moral outrage or puzzlement over their actions.

The "finding" of the sample, later, provided plausibly deniable "evidence" (it may or may not have been from "Bigfoot.") Ketchum bought it. Smeja then has it tested elsewhere to expose Ketchum's findings.

Smeja is in this deep. He is carrying this charade as far as possible. His goal: to discredit the Bigfoot sideshow in a most damaging way.

He is in cahoots with JREF. ;)

No, the real explanation is that bigfoot is a human-black bear hybrid. :D

Did either lab mention how much human contamination was on the sample? Was it just a little or a lot? I assume it was expected that it was contaminated based on Justin handling of the sample.

Tyler said:
Yes, if you look at the actual report (not just my release statement) you will see the proportions they estimated.

I do plan to release a timeline/synopsis of my work with the lab - you will see a bit of a roller coaster. Much of the roller coaster resulted from the fact that during the FIRST round of testing, they essentially threw the whole sample in a blender and then tested to see what came out. On the second round, however, they did a single strand hair test - this greatly diminished any contamination. That gave a clear picture of what we had. It also corroborated at least one of the hair morphology conclusions.

Tyler Huggins

Wait a minute, this makes no sense to me.

CWB is this how DNA samples are prepared????

Well, at least we've been assured that it's a extremely professional research team! Looks like the results will hold up to the most rigorous scrutiny.

"Because of the apparently very high quality of the ongoing research efforts over several years, no information has 'leaked' into the public sphere to date. This speaks well for the professionalism and dedication of all of the individuals on Ed Smith's various research teams; covering up to 5 different locations, mostly in Oklahoma.

Because they have kept a tight rein on things the mainstream media has been kept entirely out of the loop - exactly where it should be - until all documentation and experimental repetition has been achieved and concluded.

What I can say is that their intention is to temporarily capture a juvenile BF for the purpose of filming the team of credentialed scientists as they take blood, tissue and hair samples for testing; after which the individual will be immediately released, unharmed, back into his own original territory. This will facilitate the scientific identification of the species once and for all. We all wait with 'bated breath."

Well GT/CS, four years later and ole Ed Smith is still following the above ;) even though he is no longer a part of the organization(s) and was given a "curt" "No Comment" from his previous team mates  Seems like years go by and nothing changes.

I would hope or atleast think that the claim of there being any credible evidence of this myth would be considered bunk .To the point... there is nothing or has been never been anything to support such a thing. Much like Loch Ness which is a non issue these days.

No fur, blood, dna, snot samples, saliva, steaks (?), body fluids, reliable photos or films, dander or anything else for that matter ?

Just plenty of silliness and MoneyMaking ?

It seems that Justin Smeja's bigfoot was a bear:

I'd be curious to hear what Melba Ketchum and Derek Randles, who gave her the Smeja’s bigfoot steak sample (one of the "best samples") have to say about that.
Check out one of the sample's origins. "1 blood sample from Crittenden, Kentucky, gathered by Erickson Project. Sample was obtained by gluing glass shards on a feeding plate." Cameras, vehicles, guns, society in general. All sophisticated, present day actualities to us, but only ancient memories (and petty annoyances) to the far superior and more-highly-advanced Bigfoot. I mean, we know Bigfoot ***** in the woods, but nobody's ever found one of those ***** now have they?! Advanced I tell ya. And then ===POOF=== all crossed up on the glass-shards-glued-to-the-feeding-plate trick. Drats! And for the second time that week.

lol ~ Sorry footers you have been had yet again.
It would appear that Ketchum stripped out the BEAR as contamination, and then proceeded to study the isolated SMEJA DNA in great detail until some supposed "anomaly" arose....
And I'm bettin that 'anomaly' had something to do with something where something is something usually measured in multiples of inches but in his case only fractions were required. I bet he's got a BIG truck. Overheard at a Justin Smeja concert: "Nice truck. Sorry about your ****."

No, the real explanation is that bigfoot is a human-black bear hybrid named Justin Smeja. :D
