Why so much attention to the Amanda Knox/Raffaele Sollecito case

She seemed to have engaged in a lot of uncommitted sex with different number of partners in a short period of time. I'm not saying this is unusual or "different" but when a woman engages in this type of behavior and it becomes known, often she gets branded--especially by other women--as a "whore."

She'd had 7 partners up to that point.

I doubt that US Uni's are that different. In thread there was a 23 year old woman who claimed 48 partners, a 19 year old that had had 15 partners in 3 years, an 18 year old with 8 partners, and a 25 year old with 11.

Seems to me that Knox was rather normal there.

I'm not saying this is how I perceive her, I'm saying this is how the public likely does due to the information that's been released.

I don't think it was the information that was released, but rather the way it was, added to the blatent lies that were attached to those releases.

Also, pinning the blame for a murder on someone you know is innocent would be described as "different."

Give me a good policeman and long enough in a closed room you don't know if you'll ever get out of, and I bet I could get you to pin murdering the Pope on anyone I suggest.

I guess you'd have to ask those that keep claiming she was "Hot!" what they meant then.

At the time of the murders, she did have the "girl next door" looks which often elicits sexual fantasies in men. (young & fertile, easy access, attainable/not much competition)

So, plain and boring then. 6/10 at most. As I say, low standards. Heck I could name at least 4 women I work with who are hotter than she was in 2007.

First of all.......you don't know me or my education, vocation, or talents. The question was brought up and I'm the only one attempting to answer it in an intellectually honest way.

Secondly, I don't seek to be "a center of attention." Just because you feel that way (you must be a woman) doesn't mean others do.

And physical attractivenes doesn't equal sexual attractiveness. There are many celebrities who are more physically attractive than Knox but I can see why Amanda would be more likely to provoke sexual thoughts in a man.

Except that it is you that arbitrarily assigned this 60-70% more sexually attractive than other women of childbearing age. a 6 out of 10 isn't 60-70% more sexually attractive than other women of childbearing age, it's at most 10%-20% since a 5 is average, otherwise you'd be claiming that a 1 out of 10 is still 10% more attractive than other women of childbearing age and that makes as much sense as the claim that people are interested in the case only because they want to bang boots with her.

Not at all, my position from first post is that that she isn’t hot and that those that think she is obviously have very low standards. And this is true. If they think someone that is marginally over average is hot, then they think that pretty much half the women, if not more, on the planet are hot, and that’s a low standard.

I truly laughed out loud when I read this. It is unclear to me whether it is possible to be intellectually honest when one is as badly misinformed as you are. Ms Knox had a total of seven intimate partners her whole life, and that includes steady boyfriends. She had relations with exactly two men in Italy, and one was Raffaele Sollecito. She did have a ONS with Daniel De Luna, but if having a one night stand makes one a whore, then the (male and female) whores greatly outnumber the nonwhores. More to the point calling Ms. Knox a whore and trashy is not an answer to the question of the OP; it is just name calling.
