I guess hiding behind babies loses it's protective value after you allow hundreds of rocket and mortar strikes on civilians.Tweeted yesterday:
Bad analogy, it's only Jews getting targeted in Israel, not actual human beings. Israel has no right to respond.Well when one side has repeatedly proven that they have zero interest in stopping it...
How long would the US stand by idly if the Mexican Government was firing hundreds of rockets into Texas and California?
Egypts economy is tanking thanks to the growing power of the Islamists there. They really can't afford to pick a fight with Israel, they lose billions in US aid if they try.Egypt could do something pretty bad to Israel: re-militarise the Sinai.
Having the Egyptian army on it's borders would mean having a standing army ready and that would put a huge drain on Israel's economy.
OTOH Israel can probably wipe out the entire Egyptian army if they were stupid enough to sit in the desert.
The Brother's will have to throw the masses an anti-Israeli bone though.
Erdogan had it easy in that respect, he could just tell Shimon Peres to take a long walk on short pier on live TV, and all of Turkey loved him for it.
If the Brothers are really Machiavellian: Preach Jihad, call for volunteers, employ human wave attacks against Israel. The next twenty years no chance of revolution with all those angry young men gone.
Who else was in the house?I'd forgotten how unsceptical the discussion about Israel and palestine is on this forum.
Everyone jumps to the conclusion that the baby was "palling around with terrorists" when actually, the journalist's own house was hit in the attack, killing his son and his sister-in-law, and seriously injuring his brother.

I wasn't expecting this to change the tide of the discussion, particularly, but really, is it too much to expect even a little sympathy when innocent bystanders are also killed?
Yep, apparently it is. Preconceived opinions and lack of empathy will win out every time.
And here we go again.
retaliations for retaliations for retaliations etc etc etc.
Then a big military action lasting weeks, a thousand plus dead Palestinians, lofty military objectives not reached, international condemnation, pull out, parliamentary inquiry about failure to meet goals, trickle of cross border rocket attacks from Gaza, targeted assassinations from Israel, slow escalation, big military action lasting weeks etc.
Surely humans must be capable of breaking such a cycle?
Who else was in the house?
So Israel just picked that house at random?I have no reason to believe anybody else was, at this point. Do you?
Israel have not indicated that any other targets (apart from the Hamas leader) were killed, and he was travelling by car. Why do you assume that these other victims are anything other than unfortunate bystanders?
IDF takes out senior Hamas terrorist and issues warning by twitter.
"We recommend that no Hamas operatives, whether low level or senior leaders, show their faces above ground in the days ahead."
A firm hand is the only way to deal with punks like Hamas.
It is a biggie, that's why Israel acts aggressively when Hamas targets their civilians, kids included.sure, and kids are just collateral...no biggie....right?
Nothing in the article you linked said anything about a car being targeted. Where else are you getting your "basic facts"?No. The car happened to be driving past that house when it was targetted.
Geez, do any of you even bother to read the basic facts in the news before mouthing off?

But it's ok to kill children if your fighting evil colonial oppressors, especially if they're the cancer of humanity (Jews), right? Or is there some other reason we never hear a peep from you when Hamas fires rockets into Israel, and only hear from you when Israel responds?
Maybe you can formulate a coherent explanation using the Holocaust-excusing anti-semitic web sites you like to browse!
So do people targeted for genocide.people under seige sometime retaliate.
So what does PM Professor Yaffle do when the government of the neighboring country fires rocket and mortar salvos at her towns as part of their stated goal to kill every last one of the citizens of her country? Offer to talk about it?My apologies, I had assumed from the timing that the strike that killed this family was the same one that hit the car, killing the hamas leader. i realise that may not be the case.
But in any case, it doesn't really matter whether they were innocent bystanders killed by one strike or a different strike. The point is that both sides are engaging in behaviour that does nothing to end the conflict and everything to continue the misery and suffering of ordinary people both in Palestine and Israel. This isn't going to end until some brave people on both sides step up and say enough is enough.
