Tontar:

The camera angle rig is designed and will be built in the coming months (Maybe July, July at the latest) and then tested with an actual cast duplicate of one of Roger's two casts of that day,

The trip is now looking like the last two weeks of july.

The lens issue will be settled more or less conclusively by September, using optical science and mathematics.
If fact, a whole lot of things should be settled then. I've got a busy summer ahead of me.

Bill

September has come and gone so I guess the lens issue has been resolved?

using optical science and mathematics to boot! (just so we weren't under the delusion he was using a chicken's foot and dowsing rods.........)

My sources tell me that Ketchum's sudden going on the lam fat lady singing take the money and run fly by night fleeing the jurisdiction so long suckers disappearance is actually a race with the kitakaze group to recover the Patterson suit. Both groups think that the suit would win the 10 mill prize for proving that Bigfoot doesn't exist.

I could be wrong. But look for a fully armed Ketchum to show up at The Bigfoot Books in Willow Creek looking for Al Hodgson only to find that he is missing and his storage locker busted open...a mad chase to the Orleans airport ensues...you can fill in the blanks.

This is just so much better than fiction. I don't know where the "On the Lam" Ketchum is being discussed but it's priceless.

Not that I relish the suffering of others - more that the study of how the belief remains unsinkable as one falling star after another fizzles in the atmosphere of reality.

The footers find a way to keep it going at any cost, she will be thrown under the bus for the sake of keeping the illusion real, a new star will emerge.
And !!!! The real crazy part is at some point, if she stays connected and supports their community, she will get recycled and used again in the future. All ya got to do is be true to the Big Monkey and your a team player and always welcome.

Understood. (did from the beginning) I'm not against anyone stating the truth about someones career, or skills. (or lack of them) I just tend to stay away from giving my own opinion about them unless asked or needed. (if it's going to be a negative answer) So I too would rather give praise or give a non-committal type of response in most cases if my answer might not be positive. I do see the relevance here, and how it applies to his current claims with the PGF.

Lets use an analogy for a second. If a person has a health issue. (or in this case monster suits) and is seeking a physician to not only diagnose properly but treat the ailment properly as well. For this analogy I'll say we have a breast lump that may or may not need surgery depending on its diagnoses and biopsy.

Lets say we have a list of ten doctors, with ratings about their success rates and reputation as a doctor. (for your specific condition, or in this case, monster making) Maybe three of those doctors have a top rating, and great success rates with few mistakes or malpractices. Five have average ratings, and two have substandard ratings.

So when seeking out a doctor, are we going to choose the substandard doctor to treat? Or would you choose one of the top rated, or at least average ones, avoiding the substandard doctors?

Lets take it a step further, and say you speak to all ten of the physicians and get their diagnoses, and recommendations for treatment. Out of those ten opinions, which ones would you be more likely to take? In this case, we chose the substandard doctor, and ended up with a poor diagnoses, and not given the proper treatment. So not only do you not get treated properly, you prolong the proper diagnoses and treatment allowing the illness to perhaps spread.

So yes, I understand the reasons for pointing out the failures, and the good points of Mr Munns career in the film industry, and monster making world. I think Mr Munns claims about the film (his diagnoses) and his methods for seeking those answers (his treatment, or diagnoses techniques) may be flawed as well. So of course, we're going to end up with a result (his claims) that are not necessarily accurate, or in some cases just plain wrong.

I'm not trying to protect Munns by not "going there" in my posts, but rather it has all been made public before and I'm fully aware of his experience, and his skill levels in those aspects. Obfuscated I think was a good term you used to describe what we are seeing with his PGF work. There are still articles being posted on believer sites using his over 7 foot tall height estimate. He doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry to "correct" himself on that. Instead of offering what may be more accurate estimates, or retracting his obviously inaccurate ones, he postpones while the muddying of the waters occurs. I suspect Mr Munns is intelligent enough to know exactly how this game works, and how it is used to promote bigfoot on many fronts.

In this specific case, we have many other FX artists opinion on this film. (Rick Baker, Howard Berger, Dave Kindlon, John Vulich, Verne Langdon, Tom Burman, Matt Croteau, Mike McCracken Jr, Bob Schiffer, Stan Winston, and perhaps more that I had not discovered) All ten of them stated this film represents a man in a suit. Munns is the only monster suit guy/FX guy that I'm aware of claiming the PGF represents a real animal. (was he perhaps involved in making the suit? lol he sure promotes it enough and I think he did begin his fx career in 67?)

I've sent you a PM about your music industry work. Just trying to see if you "are who you say you are", or rather just checking your claims. (besides that, we really may know each other, or have mutual acquaintances)

Just wanted to give an update on my bolded. Seems that rockinkt is legit. Nuff said.

So, to cut to the chase, Al Hodgson has the suit. Thanks, parnassus! You heard it here first, folks. :D

Nope. Al DeAtley has it. Bill Munns recently confirmed the likely whereabouts of the suit as discussed in confidence with Kitakaze.

A poster on the old BFF named Brent D claimed he saw the Patty suit in some rich guy's collection room in a glass case back in 2008.

Kit would have known about this from the following post on JREF in a PGF thread in March 2009:

Here's a bit of provocative PGF info. There was a poster in the last year at BFF who mentioned that while doing a maintenance job at some unnamed rich fellows house he stumbled on something very interesting. This fellow had a collection room filled with unusual artifacts. One of the items was encased in a glass case and was labeled as the suit from the Patterson film. It looked a little weathered, but identical to the film. He stated he would try and sneak a camera next job he had there.

Kit followed up on this and contacted Brent D. He was apparently running cable at Al DeAtley's house and saw the Patty costume in his office. He eventually went back and took a picture of it then sent it to Kit.

Who else could have the suit in their possession to convince Kit this was "the suit"? It's not Bob H and it's not Patricia Patterson and it's not Bob Gimlin. Who else was implicated in the hoax? Who else would not want the hoax revealed, as Kit claims? Who else would Kit have to worry about legal action from?

If Kit can unequivocally state that he has found "the suit" based on a picture and who has it, then there is only 1 option. DeAtley. Who else? The relative Kit contacted is Al's son Alan DeAtley. It's "complicated" because Big Al doesn't know about Kit and Alan had a falling out with his father. But it seems that Alan still has access to the mansion and the Patty suit.

And if this is the case, then how will Kit extradite Patty from Big Al thru Alan? Sounds complicated. I think Kit has a snowball's chance in hell of pulling this off.

You heard it here 1st. :D

Wouldn't a photo of the suit do, given where the suit is?

For some maybe. But it could be this suit for all we know.

DeAtley is the logical custodian of the suit. He is also the logical custodian of the original film, the whole reel, since he financed the operation and acted as producer.

If it does get secured, then Bill Munns can use a variety of lenses and mathematics to tell us how large Phillip Morris gorilla suits were.

What kind of pressure could be put on DeAtley to open him up some ?

The opposite may be more a possibility as he's a very successful business man and likely wants nothing to do with that sort of publicity. (IMHO) That is of course a "if" he's the one. There are a few people out there that may have inside information to all this, and I'm going to guess none of them are saying anything.

This is just going to grow and become it's own animal if you get what i mean, perhaps it would be a good idea to let someone see the suit. Just hope he don't have a few suits and mess with everyone ~

Actually, I think I came out a couple years ago or more and said something.
