2012 Debates

Biden on abortion. "I'm against it because of my religion, but I cannot impose my religion on everybody else." [paraphrase] Ryan essentially said he wants to impose his religion on the political sphere.

Biden rules. Did a great job, Ryan sounded too rehearsed to me, lots of platitudes, and his smirk is congenital, like Romney's. Biden's laughing is genuine, like Obama's.

Who won? The polls will tell.

You know a guy is getting crushed when the CTs start... :D

Obama might go down as the most important president in recent American history, as being the only one between Biden and the White House.

MSNBC’s S.E. Cupp: “Biden needs to laugh a little less through the Libya, Middle East, nuclear Iran segment.”
Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza: “Ok. I have decided. I find the Biden smile slightly unsettling.”

PBS’ Jeff Greenfield: “Biden has always had a smile that at times is really, really inappropriate.”
Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard: “Can’t tell yet if Biden’s smirking, laughs, eye-rolling, head shaking, works for him or not against the oh-so-young looking eager Ryan.”
Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer: “Biden is at risk of having his laugh come across like Gore’s sighs. He should knock it off.”

Why does Ryan keep talking about bi-partisanship, and working with the democrats, when the Republicans pretty much refused all of that in the past 4 years?

RADDATZ: Well, let's talk about this 20 percent. You have refused -- and, again -- to offer specifics on how you pay for that 20 percent across-the-board tax cut. Do you actually have the specifics? Or are you still working on it, and that's why you won't tell voters?

RYAN: Different than this administration, we actually want to have big bipartisan agreements. You see, I understand the...

RADDATZ: Do you have the specifics? Do you have the...

(CROSSTALK) BIDEN: That would -- that would be a first for the Republican Congress.

RADDATZ: Do you know exactly what you're doing?
RYAN: Look -- look at what Mitt Romney -- look at what Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neill did. They worked together out of a framework to lower tax rates and broaden the base, and they worked together to fix that.

LOL Apparently not.

Ari Fleischer? Cupp?!

Wow, you really selected a wide range of bipartisan, unbiased opinions there.

I'm not watching until later, but based on the kvetching, I'm going to guess that Ryan is getting destroyed...

Quite a bit different than when Obama got blitzed, innit?

An unbiased observer would not agree with your first statement but wholly agree with the second.

Why does Ryan keep talking about bi-partisanship, and working with the democrats, when the Republicans pretty much refused all of that in the past 4 years?

Same reason why I'm asking why Biden talks about it... both parties are keen and eager to point out how the other's been obstructionist, but they're genetically incapable of taking their own responsibility

Biden closing: blame it all on Bush one more time, no mention of Obama or any future plans.
Ryan closing: pick Romney, a creator of jobs.

Bravo, Ryan.

Biden is still a ********.

Just as expected. :D :D :D

ryan: You can -- you can cut tax rates by 20 percent and still preserve these important preferences for middle-class taxpayers...

Biden: Not mathematically possible.

Ryan: It is mathematically possible. It's been done before. It's precisely what we're proposing.

Biden: It has never been done before.

Ryan: It's been done a couple of times, actually.

Biden: It has never been done before.

Ryan: Jack kennedy lowered tax rates, increased growth. Ronald reagan...

Biden: Oh, now you're jack kennedy?

zing!!!!!!

Biden closing: blame it all on Bush one more time, no mention of Obama or any future plans.

That they will apparently do with magic wands and fairy dust, since Ryan didn't say anything about how they would do it!

Bravo, Ryan.

Biden is still a ********.

Just as expected. :D :D :D

You expected Ryan to lie through his teeth?
