Skeptics need to know: Cardinals or Wildcats? And don't go saying you don't follow college hoops. One is not allowed to live in Kentucky and not follow college roundball. (We have an annual NCAA hoops thread in sports which I usually start because I'm a hoops junkie, not an enviable condition when you're in Thailand with no network coverage and having to watch major games from 8 a.m. to noon, but we all have our cross to bear.)

Settle in, check out some of the Forum Community threads to get to know who some of your fellow reprobates are,.... and as always, Welcome Aboard.

Its KY Foolme.... there's no escaping basketball. I am Big Blue all the way, even though I live in Louisville. I had seen in one of the other threads where you asked a gentleman with a cardinal on his shirt if it was of the Louisville persuasion. I was VERY relieved to hear that he said Arizona.... lol As for watching the games, are you able to access ESPN3? Its been allowing me to watch some footbal this year after my fiancee has watched her game for the week. :D If its available to you I highly recommend it.

I have been observing my fellow reprobates for a while and I think I am going to fit in. I am anticipating getting my critical thinking skills sharpened pretty quickly thanks to all you guys and gals.

Windsshadow

I was reporting a story of my experiences. A SHOUT goes around the world saying "Let my people Go!". Until it had circumvent the globe. This is a true story. I could use some friendly advice from , professional's who have proven the paranormal exists. I have heard voices and seen spirit's since this time and visions of grande extremes of religious content.
I am still experiencing visions of granduer. Real spirit's conversing w/ me and interupting my life w/ the "normal" people.
I am excited that this is a new adventure. As is everyday.
New experiences and visions whan I close my eyes. My case manager thinks I am alway's sleepy. When it is visions I do not want to miss. Do I call myself clairvoyant?

Salutation

Thank you for your Welcoming voices. To Colonol: Would like to try that goat's milk and wild game!

Greetings:

It is both an honour and pleasure to join this community.

Forum wise I spent a few years at the David Icke forum attempting to provide alternative views to daves teachings about the Bible/Talmud/Holocaust/911....ultimately I was banned........the management there has nearly achievec their goal of a complete echo-chamber of daves erroneous teachings without interference of facts and credentialed scholarship.

Myself, I am a non-academic.though an avid reader I am a professional labourer and classical guitarist.....

I recognized errors in his teachings on the above subjects and 'felt' these errors led to animosity towards the Jewish people.

I am a gentile myself but 'feel' if one is going to make an accusation it should be grounded in reality.

I have been around long enough.58 years.to realize BS cannot withstand pressure.........I presented evidence of credentialed scholars (of which I am not one) and was met with extreme hostility.......

Onr thread: 'Israel is legit, deal with it'......turned into a real slug fest....into the Rant Room.

Anyhoo, I look forward to sane and rational discourse that appears to pervade this community.

Kind Regards..........:)

Hey! Stumbled across the place doing a google on "Lorraine Warren Fraud" and browsed several great threads on several other topics. Very cool playground.

I'm 48, married, father of two teenagers. By profession I am a CPA, but have "evolved" past a career that led to a couple CFO positions and now I split duties between CFO and COO/Corporate Dev for a software company. I have undergraduate degrees in Econ and Math, and graduate degrees in Bus Admin and Accounting. My hobbies are powerlifting, movies, movie props and leather jackets from TV/movies/historical military. I love paranormal fiction and I believe pretty much all paranormal phenomena are just that - fiction. Looking forward to learning and sharing. Thanks!

Welcome, Windshadow.

Some people get the wrong impression at first glance. There's a lot here about the paranormal, but most of us would probably take the view that the vast majority of such claims are bunkum. If you're here to have your eerie experiences affirmed, you may have mis-calibrated the drop zone. We're the defensive unit - trying to prevent this nonsense from spreading and trying to de-fang the perceptions that the woo-merchants are peddling.

Only a few of us are actually "professionals" at what's mostly done around here, as it's not exactly a lucrative job. But there are a lot who are very devoted, that is for certain.

I'm not saying you'll get torn to shreds. If you wish to discuss some of what you deem "clairvoyant" or "paranormal" experiences, and talking with or through spirits, I suggest opening a thread in General Skepticism and the Paranormal. We have a few members who are actual believers, but they have to maintain thick skin because most of us are definitely on the other side of the aisle. And we do like evidence. You'll be asked for it at every turn.

So, notwithstanding the friendly advice, welcome aboard. If you're really open to learning and verifying things, it could be an interesting stay.

Well then, after reading your post Foolmewunz, I may also have joined the wrong forum. Not to say there are not wacko's out there and people who use 'psychic' communication to defraud, not all are bad.

Having experienced psychic communication personally, I can no longer say it does not exist. I may at one time have believed that psychic readings were hokkum (is that word?), I know that communication between deceased loved ones and those of us still living does happen.

I merely registered because someone had asked about Judith Turner of Maine (a psychic in Maine) since I had actually had sessions with her, I thought I would give my feedback.

Certainly, no one here or anywhere has to believe a word I say. It's enough for me that I know it's true.

But, thank you anyway for the opportunity to speak!

SuzieS,

Welcome, again. I just replied to you in thread as you were preparing this message.

We're not all frothing at the mouth maniacal debunkers. You'll see two replies in thread already trying to be even-handed and asking if you'd be willing to discuss and/or investigate your claims.

I will not promise that some of the characters around here won't get snarky and even mean. It's apparently in some of our natures (including myself on a number of occasions). Your beliefs do not seem to be harmful in any way, though (my line in the sand).

Thank you. Perhaps I will stick around. I'm not sure what benefit I could be, nor if I am interested in being a benefit. :)

I certainly have no interest in harming anyone. As for my personal experiences with psychic communications, the deceased contacted ME, I did not try to contact them. The deceased had messages they wanted relayed and they used me to do that. I don't seek it out and I can't do it on command, neither does anyone else (for that matter). I can only go by the confirmation of those who the message was intended for it's accuracy, as I have no idea whether any message is accurate or not.

Hi there. I've been meaning to find my way over here for ages, but always ended up getting distracted by something shiny, or being unable to think of a good username, or some other lame excuse. Now I seem to have got pretty well settled with this name, and was reminded to register here when I saw that my blog seems to have been linked to from somewhere on these boards.

So, um, hello. My main interest, as you can probably guess, is religion. I'm pretty much an ex-Christian, not really "out", exploring new ideas and enjoying the freedom that comes with being able to follow the evidence rather than trying to fit it to my existing beliefs.

Welcome, welcome

Good points on your blog which are well worth a debate.
