ColdFusion Noobie

Part of my day is spent asking the programmer who is real busy why such-and-such process keeps crapping out. Apparently he uses ColdFusion - so I downloaded it and I'd like to learn about it, in an attempt to be a more productive and better salaried member of my enterprise, vis-a-vis taking mundane tasks off of his plate and putting it on mine.

Anywho, are there any good videos like you'd find from lynda.com only free? I know there's various sites that give you examples of tags and syntax and whatnot but I just can't learn by memorizing. Only by doing. Basically I need resources on learning this stuff. I did very minimal HTML, which is to say I know how to surround a bunch of letters with

Did I parse this sentence right? 'Cause what I got came out, ".. passing the buck."




Anyway, I don't think you're supposed to say "vis-a-vis" in corpse culture unless you're far enough up the food chain that you don't actually do any real work. Otherwise it sounds pretentious.
