Merged U.S. ambassador to Libya, 3 others killed in rocket attack, witness says

none of the MSM seem to want to mention the name of the film, anyone know what it is?

Stevens was the American envoy to the Libyan rebel movement that overthrew dictator Moammar Gadhafi last year, based in the rebel capital of Benghazi.

Anyway, that's the thanks anyone can and should expect for supporting rebels/terrorists. Soon to come to a Syria near you.

A quote:
The United States ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens, was killed in a rocket attack on the American Consulate in the city of Benghazi on Tuesday, a contractor working at the mission said Wednesday after seeing Stevens' body.
Three American security staff were also killed, said the contractor, who asked not to be named for security reasons.
He said he saw all four bodies on the street Wednesday morning. The bodies are now in the Central Hospital in Benghazi, he said.

Wow. Benghazi has always been a hotbed for Gaddafi loyalists. But maybe that's why it's a good idea to do it there... make it look like any of the "good Libyans" from back east might have done it. And it is plausible, considering a lot of those have their own reasons for hating American-types.

Clearly, it will have to be blamed on loyalists, and lead to a crackdown, etc.

Damn, that was about on September 11, wasn't it? Remember Gaddafi was the first world leader to put a prize out on Bin Laden, back in 1998. The AQ in Iraq brigades from Derna and Benghazi ... well.

Anyway, we did protect some civilians from something making the rounds on twitter.

Can't watch things at work with sound on, but apparently the name of the film is:

"The Innocence Of Muslims"

ah yea the Telegraph named it http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...tack-on-Benghazi-consulate-say-officials.html

The mobs involved in both embassy attacks were mainly comprised of Salafis, followers of an ultra-traditionalist approach to Islam that has spread across North Africa as well as much of the rest of the Arab world from Saudi Arabia in recent years.
Although they were not the prime movers in the "Arab Spring" protests, they have become much more visible in countries like Libya where secular dictators have been overthrown.
They are incensed by a film made in America and promoted on Youtube entitled "The Innocence of Muslims" that is intended to expose the "hypocrisy" of Islam. It not only portrays the Prophet, which the religion prohibits, but ridicules him as a homosexual and advocate of paedophilia, and shows him having sex.
It was apparently made by an Israeli-American businessman and backed by Terry Jones, the fundamentalist pastor who previously threatened to hold public burnings of the Koran. A version of the film, which is in English, has been dubbed into Egyptian Arabic and shown on the website of an Egyptian Coptic Christian businessman based in America

Ah...

LA Times has it, mentioning protests connected, citing a Sky News report.

Sky News also reports it, as Simon does, three others killed. But for the record, I noticed CNN said three "American security staff" were killed as well as an uncertain number of Libyans.
Libyans were also killed, the contractor said, saying the victims were shot on the spot.
Also killed by the Salafists, or by security staff? I think you're allowed to shoot people when they attack you in the embassy.

That's besides those injured. Sounds cleaner than a car bomb, though. And had to be planned out, not part of the spontaneous protests in Benghazi, but sliding in underneath it. (hey, that sounds familiar...)

The Washington Post named it too.

ok. I wasn't seeing conspiracies in the sky, just having trouble finding what it was called from the first 5 reports I read.

so Egypt & Libya potentially flaring up again, Syria in civil war, Iran the ever present bad guys, Israel wanting to kick off etc etc etc.

black swan potential high and climbing IMO, and with crude technically potentially ready for a pop on the charts

hmm.

im sure its nothing that cant be sorted out with a pervasive drone campaign.

the Lockheed Martin sales rep has turned his phone off and gone down the pub for the day

There appears to be a lot of dispute as to the actual killing of the ambassador. CNN was reporting this morning that the "official" Lybian version is that he died of suffocation in the fire.
However, another report indicates his car was hit by an RPG as it was attempting to remove him from the attack... With the implication that this was essentially an assassination; the RPG team hiding on the escape route.
I suspect one version or other will be settled on....

Justice for Libyan Ambassador and others?

Will the persons responsible for setting the fire and death of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and others be brought to justice or is this incident going to be downplayed and swept under the rug by this administration and Libya's own leaders whoever is in charge now?
