"Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani, the Iranian Christian cleric facing death for the crime of apostasy against an Islamic faith he never held, has been given a temporary stay of execution. Iran’s top judge, Ayatollah Sadegh Larijani, instructed presiding Judge Ghazi Kashani to delay carrying out capital punishment for a year in order to give time for Mr. Nadarkhani to recant Christianity and become a Muslim."

I think that Iran has a very merciful criminal system.

Such a horrible crime, and they let him live.

Meanwhile, here in the perfidious West, Canada is in an uproar over whether women should be required to uncover their faces when taking the oath for Canadian citizenship.

The requirement appears to be some sort of crime against humanity.

Yes, only 3 years imprisonment for trying to convert Muslims. And to think there's people who don't think Iran is a sensible place! Any western country would have done the same.
