General Holocaust Denial Discussion Part II

We gain knowledge, just as we do from a dig of a Roman fort or WWI trenches.

I guess my question is. What do we learn? In the case of Sobidor we have an interesting sub-text in the mass break out that occurred there. But from an historical perspective what do we gain?

I am probably wrong on this, but the thing that caught my eye was the ash and bone... why I read it, why I posted. Somewhere long ago here on some thread with lots of holocaust deniers, I think someone was arguing that there were no indication of mass murder at treblinka and sobibor, that they were just tansit camps, etc. that if there were ash and bone, we'd know about it, etc. Well, this says there is ash and bone. The nutters will still deny... as noted an Israelie archeologist was involved... but there was ash and bone... not that there needed to be to prove the holocaust, mind you, the german's own documents did a pretty good job of that (of couse, like Obama birth certificate, they're all faked).

I think with the deniers no level of evidence will meet their need. Specifically with Treblinka there has been little gain from examining the remains. IIRC a large part of the pits was concreted over the stop the grave robbing the locals had been engaged in since the Germans left.

My point about what we can learn lays in the knowledge of the technology used, construction techniques involved camp management etc is very well known and understood from surviving documents.

Where denier/revisionists really fail is how they dispute witness testimony. Ask one to name a witness they do believe and they squirm. So we are meant to think the whole thing was made up!?

Good luck to finding much. I hope they don't give up as quickly as the US did when digging for the mass graves of "300.000" of Saddam's victims.

Actually, they're fine with evidence they have manufactured or "discovered" themselves. In fact, they're so fine with it that they keep using it long after it's been debunked.

Agreed, but I was talking about real evidence, not denier lies.

They also get a bit sad panda when you bring up the millions of non jews that were exterminated during the same period

What did he lie about?

He was known as the Father Of Holocaust Denial, so what else do you need to know?

''It was in 1964, with The Drama of the European Jews, that Rassinier came to the conclusion that there was never a policy of extermination by Nazi Germany.''

So he was a liar.

Actually, according to the linked article, they're finding quite a bit.

Ah, but the fact that they were finding ash and bone just where you would expect them to find ash and bone shows that the ash and bone were likely planted there in order to bolster the fraud... see?

If the barracks were wooden as in the picture, gee, that ash will convince me they burned way more than the original estimate of 250,000 alright.

Does Paul Rassinier count?

Not really, since he was sent to Buchenwald and Dora as a French political prisoner and was never exposed to a camp in Poland. He was truthful about his own experiences but led a charmed life and was misled by his sojourn in the camps to think that anyone who had it worse than him was lying. The irony is he himself testified to being packed into a train waggon with 100+ prisoners and then doubted another testimony who claimed fewer in a waggon. So he was a complete hypocrite.

Rassinier anticipated later scummy denier antics by interviewing himself in a right wing journal then bringing a libel case in France during the 60s, which he lost spectacularly when this particular deception was exposed.
