Julian Assange: rapist or not?

Quote in question had to do with 'collaborators should die' etc.

Added 'doesn't get it' bonus points:

You source a book written by the person whose allegation is contested.

lol.

Like wow this actually has me chuckling Joey McGee...

DL: "Julian Assange said he hates ice cream"

The Other (witness): "No he didn't.

DL: "Yeah he did, look it's in my book."

So you've got two british guys that were there (walsh and leigh) saying he did say that, and two german guys saying they don't remember. Add Nick Davies experience to that. Wow you've really got to believe those three guys made it up! The german guys say they don't remember. Big deal

aw yeah can't trust the hun eh?

The 'german guy' signed a statement saying Assange didn't say any such thing.

Did Walsh corroborate the 'informers should die' statement anywhere outside of Leigh's book?

Also, Assange thinks this accusation is being orchestrated by the pentagon. Share that view?

Do you think the Pentagon has an adversarial relationship with Assange?

I do.

Do you think it's beyond the pale of consideration that the Pentagon could seek to smear its enemies reputations?

I don't.

Do you think Assange initially believed he could get away with raping the Pentagon and the two Swedes? And how does he plan on getting out of that embassy?

Just thinking. Perhaps our boy may have a mental competence defense. I am seriously beginning to wonder if the boy is all there.

I think that if you want me to consider the possibility that the Pentagon is smearing Assange's reputation, you'll need to show some evidence that the Pentagon is smearing Assange's reputation.

I also think that if you want me to consider the possibility that the Pentagon is orchestrating some elaborate scheme to extradite Assange to the US via a rape investigation in Sweden, you'll have to show evidence of that, too.

Right now, all the available evidence suggests that very different possibilities should be considered: That Assange is smearing his own reputation, and that Sweden is orchestrating a fairly mundane scheme to extradite Assange to Sweden for a rape investigation.

That's not an answer to the question. Assange has positively asserted that the Pentagon is responsible. Not that it's possible, that they are actually doing it. McGee asked you if you specifically shared that opinion.

Don't bother to ask for a source. You had no problem "responding" to the claim without one.

I find it amazing how people keep saying the only reason Assange is being charged is US involvement, when they can't actually prove US involvement, and the real reason this case is so prominent is because Assange is famous. It's not like America has never had people accusing prominent public figures of sexual misconduct, such as President William J. Clinton.

hey amigo tbh the only quotes I can find from Assange are 'pentagon could' and 'pentagon may'. If you have a 'pentagon did' source then please share.

What evidence?

(nb I'm not saying what you're saying is implausible)

No.

It's also curious that you also ignore the requests for evidence from theprestige before asking him for evidence supporting his opinion. You still haven't backed up your own position, yet you want him to support his?

Got it: Not even Assange thinks the Pentagon has actually smeared him.

What evidence?
What is this I don't even

Seriously, which of the following best describes the nature of your ignorance:
  • You didn't know that Assange has been accused of rape and has fled the country to avoid investigation into those charges;
  • You don't believe this constitutes a smearing of his reputation; or
  • You don't see how his actions (both alleged and actual) are evidence in favor of the smearing being his own damn fault?

lol

nice try

This little recap should help you here.

I said Pentagon involvement could be a possibility. I didn't say that I think any US agency was definitely responsible. Then your pal says:

To which I say:

This is your pal making stuff up, as far as I can tell.

Seriously, which of the following best describes the nature of your ignorance:
  • You didn't know that Assange has been accused of rape and has fled the country to avoid investigation into those charges;

  • Evidence that this was his motivation?

[*] You don't believe this constitutes a smearing of his reputation; or

Given the circumstances, as I've pointed out before, I can understand his reluctance to be taken in by the authorities. He might be trying to dodge rape charges, or he may be doing his best to err on the side of caution and seeking to evade extradition to the US.

[*] You don't see how his actions (both alleged and actual) are evidence in favor of the smearing being his own damn fault?

    Lol

    Alleged actions are evidence?

    :P

The best part is that it seems quite a few posters here actually witnessed Assange in the action of "raping" the two women. My question is what should be done to them, as they obviously didn't see fit to stop the situations from occurring.

They were asking for it. They brought this upon themselves. Right?

Julian was very reluctant to delete those names, to redact them." David Leigh of the Guardian newspaper tells FRONTLINE of meetings he attended with Assange in the run-up to publication of the war logs. "And we said: 'Julian, we've got to do something about these redactions. We really have got to.' And he said: 'These people were collaborators, informants. They deserve to die.' And a silence fell around the table."

So this is an actual question for you. Do you agree with Assange that they deserved to die? Or do you believe him that he didn't say that and all of the others who were there are lying that he said that in order to discredit him?

What a self-absorbed creep.
