Moderated Will the 2012 Olympic Games in London be held?

By this, Apollo's golden harp began
To sound forth music to the ocean,
Which watchful Hesperus no sooner heard
But he the bright day-bearing car prepared
And ran before, as harbinger of light,
And with his flaring beams mocked ugly night,
Till she, o'ercome with anguish, shame, and rage,
Danged down to hell her loathsome carriage.

The prophecies include a world war from the Philippines. Much that I do not want any war, the prophecies say so. Are we overpopulated? If so, how can you reduce the population of this world? God said in Genesis 9:12-13, “And God said, this is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.” The bow in the cloud is the rainbow.

How very coolly you make these statements, as if their logic were unassailable, their sentiments laudable, their fulfillment desirable.

But of course, you anticipate being one of God's chosen survivors. You expect to sashay through one of the new model towns built upon nuclear wasteland, enjoying its many glowing amenities with your--what was it, ten?--new concubines. No wonder the absolute failure of your prophecy last month, in your own words, devastated you.

I do not for one moment believe that you "do not want any war."

So God will not annihilate mankind by flood forevermore. It will be man who will kill his fellowmen, which God cannot control except to warn us. That is why there is prophecy, which John 16:13 states, “he will show you things to come.”

If there is free will, then the future cannot be predicted. If there is true prophecy, then there is no free will in any meaningful sense.

You keep telling us your god is omnipotent, omniscient, beamingly good--and yet simultaneously both impotent and evil. You really need to study theodicy.

An aside here: I find it very odd how you pick and choose amongst Bible stories, savoring some and rejecting others, like a man pawing through a box of cheap chocolates.

Can you not see the waste of spending on military hardware and personnel? Can you not see how man is polluting the environment? Have you not read how the garbage thrown by man in the river system ended up along the seawall in Roxas Boulevard in Metro Manila recently? Do you know how people are being indoctrinated that there is no God?

There is no need to indoctrinate people against "God". You have only to tell them of prophecies such as yours, and the evil vengeful deity who inflicts them--and people will reject the idea all on their own.

Yes, but as has been explained to you the Jewish calendar at the date you are concerned with was not purely lunar because it had an intercalary month inserted when necessary.

@Mojo, #3485

Yes, today, the Jewish lunisolar calendar has an intercalary month inserted on the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th, and 19th years. This 19-year cycle is called Metonic Cycle. After 235 lunar years, the Jewish calendar is one day ahead of the Gregorian solar calendar.

Did you know that the Jewish calendar was reformed in 358/359 AD to become what it is today? Why was it reformed? So it was only in 358/359 AD when there is only one calendar used. But before this, from the Babylonian exile to 358/359 AD, there were two calendars used. In fact, to prove that the Israelites adopted the Babylonian calendar, the names of the Jewish months are similar to the Babylonian months and the system of insertion are similar as well.

Yes, but you seem to have made the incorrect assumption that because Hillell II developed a fixed rule of when the intercalary month should be inserted in the 4th century, that the intercalary month was not inserted prior to this.

The intercalary month has been inserted as necessary since at least the writing of the Pentateuch, so from 1400BC -600BC depending on which scholars you rely on. It is explicitly commanded in Exodus that Nisan must be in spring, and that Passover is celebrated in spring, so that the right foods are available for the Passover meal in a world which knew nothing of 24 hour supermarkets and flying in out-of-season foods.

Prior to the 4th century CE when the month was inserted depended on observing the signs of the seasons, and based on those observations the Sanhedrin decreed whether to insert Adar Beit or not. In the reign of Constantine II the meetings of the Sanhedrin were forbidden, and so Hillel II developed a mathematical rule so that it was not necessary to wait for the Sanhedrin's announcement.

Your assertion that the Nisan wandered through the seasons is completely and utterly without foundation, and directly contradicts the explicit commandment in Exodus as well as recorded Jewish history. Your calculations, therefore, are wrong.

Goodness knows what the end will be--
Oh, I don't know where I'm at--
It looks as though we two will never be one--
Something must be done.

It's time for another look at the ol' prophecy-and-miscellaneous-claims scorecard:

The 2012 London Olympic Games will not be held.
FAIL. The Games held July 27-August 12 inclusive were a roaring success from start to finish.

The creepy decrepit actress old lady Ka Apaz is the reincarnation of an Egyptian princess named Reneliniyindi.
FAIL. The historical record does not support the existence of any such person.

The vile con artist old lady Ka Apaz is the reincarnation of the Virgin Mary, Joan of Arc and 174 other unnamed personages.
FAIL. No evidence has been proffered for these claims. Failed by default.

The outrageous charlatan old lady Ka Apaz is the preferred mouthpiece of Teh Holy SpookTM.
FAIL. The facts that she has been observed to fall upon the floor, can count up to 8 people who are in the same room with her, converses in a deep voice, and sometimes babbles incomprehensibly do not begin to provide substantive evidence that she is anything other than a cunning elderly drama queen with a gullible audience.

In ancient times, the Jewish Passover was held at different times of the year due to the calendar used.
FAIL. Agatha demonstrated that PC’s calculations failed to take into account the intercalary month used to keep Passover in the spring.

Posted prophecies 1-19
FAIL. Please click here for Agatha’s admirable review of the individual prophecies.

Jesus’s lucky lotto number is 888.
FAIL. PC offers in evidence only that the arrangement of post office boxes in a certain Sydney post office confirms this claim. Pace Carl Jung, Hans Holzer, and Sybil Leek, I am unimpressed.

God will turn Foolmewunz into a newt.
FAIL. Foolmewunz has in fact recently embarked upon a new business venture, and shows no signs of overt or latent newtiness.

A human being will give birth to kittens and a cat will give birth to humans.
FAIL. I am rather disappointed no evidence on this gem has been put forward for our examination and edification.

"If World War III does not start before the 2012 Olympic Games in London, then I will say that He is a false god."
"If what I impart to you would not happen, I will recant what I said and apologize to all of you and will stop what I do on the Internet."
"Yes, Marcus, if the prophecies do not happen, not only will I stop believing in that spirit but also in Ka Apaz."
"Even though the Games will officially open tomorrow, 07-27, I cannot move the goal posts anymore because 07-25 is the last Wednesday for the month of July."
FAIL. PC has not recanted and continues to move the goalposts. See his recent posts for details about the Paralympics, the Devil, and the deep blue sea.

I've omitted some exceptionally silly claims about birds falling from the sky and a few other items simply because making the litany of failure any longer is too dreary.

PeaceCrusader, you are, IMO justifiably, losing your audience here at the Forum as more skeptics refuse to participate any longer in this thread. As I myself am now querulously squirrelless, I too may stop posting here, unless your future postings respond fully and sincerely to our questions, comments, and evidence.

My reply:
According to the spirit we talk to and who we call Ama, “Ka Apaz is the reincarnation of an Egyptian princess named Reneliniyindi.” Ama revealed that the spirit was brought down from Heaven and resided in the first human being named Reneliniyindi. Ama said that it was Philip I, the very first, who was married to Reneliniyindi. The Philippines was named Las Islas Filipinas in honor of Philip II of Spain by Spanish explorer Ruy Lopez de Villalobos. I have to know the names of the rulers of Spain from before 200 AD but the text is in Spanish. Thank you to pakeha and Agatha for their offer of help to translate the Spanish text to English.

My reply:
The Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) is not one of the reincarnations of the spirit that is in Ka Apaz. According to Ama, the spirit that is now in Ka Apaz was taken from the heart of Mary while she was still in Heaven (http://aristean.org/pahayag002.htm - the 16th paragraph from start of body). I think Mary in Heaven was called “Gumamela Celis”. That is why Ama calls Reneliniyindi as his sister (“kapatid”) because Jesus was born by the BVM and the spirit of Reneliniyindi came from the BVM as well.

I have explained also how Passover was wandering through the seasons during the time of Jesus.

Uh, no; according to a completely different set of scriptures, the rainbow is the Bifrost Bridge to Asgard.

What good is a god who can't -- or won't -- intervene to stop the deaths of billions of people? Such a spineless thug is not worthy of respect.

PC, I was never "indoctrinated" that your particular god doesn't exist.

In My 55 years on this planet, however, I've yet to see one credible bit of evidence for its existence. I have, therefore, concluded that your god is fictional. It can show up in person at its earliest convenience to prove Me wrong about that, but I'm not going to try to believe just for the sake of believing.

The prophecies include a world war from the Philippines.
All the prophecies have been abysmal failures, why should we listen to this one?

Much that I do not want any war, the prophecies say so.
Yeah, those failed prophecies.

Are we overpopulated?
By some measures, yes.

If so, how can you reduce the population of this world?
Education, improving access to effective contraception methods, a reduction in consumption by the developed world, and in some places where necessary, financial incentives to limit family size, among other measures.

t is not necessary for billions of people to die painfully and violently, nor is it necessary to destroy much of the infrastructure of the developed world in order to bring about a reduction in population. Only an evil thinker would propose global thermonuclear war as the solution instead of peaceful means.

<snip pointless preaching (at least there was a rule against it on IIDB)

Can you not see the waste of spending on military hardware and personnel?
With massive defence cuts being implemented in most of the developed world due to the recession, no.

Can you not see how man is polluting the environment?
Indeed, but war is not the usual or appropriate response, particularly a nuclear war which would contaminate the planet for years as well as destroying much of the biosphere.

Have you not read how the garbage thrown by man in the river system ended up along the seawall in Roxas Boulevard in Metro Manila recently?
No, because happenings in the many small countries around the world don't generally make headlines in other nations unless it's something remarkable or which might have a severe effect on the wider world.

Do you know how people are being indoctrinated that there is no God?
No, because this is not happening. People are being encouraged to think for themselves and to be sceptical, and not to accept the kind of religious indoctrination that has blighted human progress for so many years.

I did not say that the intercalary month was not inserted prior to 358/359 AD. It was, from the Babylonian exile to 358/359 AD. Why Babylonian exile? Because that is the time when they encountered the Babylonians calendar. Did they adopt this calendar?

Now think that there were two calendars: a purely lunar calendar and a lunisolar calendar during the time of Jesus. Can you accept this?

What are the festivals that are in a lunar calendar and in a lunisolar calendar?

I'm not going to bother with the rest of your post, but I wish you'd read mine properly.

Passover did not wander through the seasons at the time of Jesus, nor did it do so before then.

You are completely and utterly wrong in this and there is no more polite way to say it. Your understanding of the Jewish calendar prior to Hillel II's reform is faulty. I've explained this to you with careful and detailed explanations more than once, and you can look up in Exodus 12 how Nisan (Aviv) is commanded to be the first month of the year, and how the Passover meal must include a lamb, and thus it has to be kept in the spring.

You can even look up the Jewish calendar in wikipedia and see there the explanation of how the intercalary month was added if there were no signs of spring at the end of Adar, prior to Hillel's reform. On this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_calendar we see:

For example, until the Tannaitic period, the months were set by observation of a new crescent moon, with an additional month added every two or three years to keep Passover in the spring, again based on observation of natural events, namely the ripening of the barley crop, the age of the kids lambs and doves, the ripeness of the fruit trees, and the relation to the Tekufah (seasons).

The Tannaitic period was from 10 CE to 220CE, so these intercalary months were being added prior to Biblical times.

If I am not mistaken, the original is Tagalog, a very different language.

It is true that Passover is held on the first month of the year. But why did the Israelites not use Abib for the first month? During the time of Solomon, there was Ziv (second month), Ethanim (seventh month), and Bul (eighth month). Why was Aviv not used in the following: Exodus 40;2, 17; Ezekiel 45:18; 2 Chronicle 29:3, 17; Ezra 10:17; Joshua 4:19; Daniel 10:4; etc.? Why is there no thirteenth month provision in 1 Kings 4:7-19 and 1 Chronicle 27:1-15 if a lunisolar calendar had been in used?

Tell me, when is the fruiting season of the fig tree?

When to insert the intercalary month in the Jewish calendar: on the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th, and 19th years in a 19-year Metonic Cycle.

And a partridge in a pear tree

Is this Spanish text of yours on the web? I have looked for it and can only find references to antiquarian books for sale, or google docs which reference it.

If what you are trying to find out is the names of the rulers of Spain between 100 BC and 100 CE, Wiki can probably set you on the road. Bear in mind though that the Roman conquest of Hispania and the way that the different parts which make up modern Spain were governed may make that difficult.

If what you are trying to find out is when Philip I was on the throne (as opposed to the Philip II in whose honour the Philippines are named), then a very quick check of any encyclopaedia would have told you that Philip I of Castile and Léon ruled for just three months in 1506.

Did the so-called spirit tell you that this Philip who married Reneliniyindi (the unrecorded Egyptian princess with a non-Egyptian name) was a Prince Philip of Spain, or is that your assumption?
