To whom does the WE refer? Not thousands of bloggers. Not a large part of the people. It thus refers to ah, mainstream media challenged subgroups.....those who would ask a simple question over and over, searching, but for whom the light may never tun on.

Waiting in the airport the other week, I saw something on the news monitor about "the MSM reaction to the Colorado shooting..."

Of course it was FOX News running the feed.

Now how can one of the world's largest news outlets, one which regularly claims to have more viewers than other outlets, claim not to be the mainstream? How does "beating MSNBC" = fringe media?

Is it just me or are they playing both sides of the fence?

No, you are trying to redefine logically what is basically a commonly used phrase. And the phrase as used does not include Fox News.

This doesn't work any better than trying to be LOGICAL about the use of "puta" or "loco" or "perra". It is language, and it has defined meanings, distilled from human experience. They just are what they are.
