Continuation: Discussion of the George Zimmerman case

Dunno. Would that stop him from being a little sloppy?

It just makes it a little more difficult to do blame shifting when it's the same person :)

Maybe we aren't sharing the same meaning of "significant".

I'm not talking about whether it is statistically significant in the sense that there is a noticeable numeric variance. I'm talking about whether it is significant in the sense that it would materially affect our understanding of the way the events took place when Trayvon was shot.

Do you believe that the difference in those two sets of referents would cause enough of a difference in the location of the evidence points to offer a challenge to any of the descriptions of what happened that night?

I was just documenting potential sources of errors so when the photos don't precisely align with the data there won't be allegations of fudging the data.

I think there could be enough error in the movement of marker 1 to the east and the remaining markers to the west if they screwed up the reference points that the body would be noticeably further from the sidewalk and that might challenge our attempts to reconstruct those last moments.

I wonder where the layout for the building footprints came from in that pg.284 drawing. It appears to have been sourced from some other document. (Perhaps construction contract drawings?)

I wonder if the data set from the total station was imported as a file to generate an overlay onto that plan view, or if the points were added manually by the CAD operator.

If the former then I wonder what method was used to translate and rotate the data set, and match dimensions.

Any thoughts on this?

At a minimum, they have the two triangulation reference points. I suspect though they mapped many points on the buildings as they were already in the vicinity mapping the trees and hedges. If the building plan came from the assessors files it may have already been properly scaled and rotated.

Glad I have at least one.

But that's one call out of hundreds. Can you cite a single source that says that all of the callers are identified?

There are not hundreds of calls. And I gave you a link to a source that identifies a whole lot more than one call....

Nope, I let the Internet do that for me. And the Internet tells me none of the calls were with Frank, nor was he the subject of them.
...

Well, you're wrong. I've listened to some of them, and Taaffe IS the subject of some of them.
Perhaps you should rely less on poor sources on 'the internetz" and find out for yourself.

The link to all 146 calls is on my other computer, and I can't tell you offhand which ones I heard about FT (they were in the call 87 -100 section as my best guess) --

I can provide a link to the calls when I get on that 'puter - and without some work, unable to give you the number. Busy with work right now.

Suffice it to say - Taffee WAS discussed. My word is good. I'm sure you know that by now...

Interview is going on on Faux news right now. I'm AMAZED, Omara is letting him completely recount the entire story, the prosecution will certainly be able to use everything he is saying. As expected Hannity is a friendly interviewer, not asking any tough questions.

OK, I officially can't stand this guy now. He has no regrets and "feels like it was all part of God's plan".

Hannity has also just asked his only real question, asking GZ if maybe TM though GZ was after him. GZ responded he's wrestled with that question a lot.

After the break...he responds to the molestation claims.

You know, if George were a little more clever and a little less entitled, he'd have had a much easier time getting away with this.

I saw 6 avid Z supporters turn on him in the last hour.

Think this interview helped him?

:D

I wonder if after his conviction he'll talk about all his regrets?

What a douche.

Seriously.

That guy can go suck a chainsaw.

This is purely from the defense perspective: it's not going to win him the popularity vote, that's for sure but, if he is trying to maintain that Trayvon Martin viciously attacked him and intended to kill him that night, should he show remorse? Wouldn't that suggest that he may not be sure Trayvon really intended to kill him?

Maybe the interview is a way to allow him to testify without any cross examination. I certainly didn't learn anything new from it.

I learned something new from the interview - that Trayvon was right next to his vehicle and attacked Zimmerman immediately after Z had gotten out, not "when he was returning to it". I also learned that when Zimmerman told the phone dispatcher that he was following Trayvon, he really meant that he was watching from inside his truck.

I'm not sure where this puts the part of the phone call where Zimmerman says "He's running" and there's motion noise and heavy breathing and then he says "I lost him". Maybe he was masturbating in his truck and Trayvon snuck up and was hidden crouched behind the rear bumper, waiting for Zimmerman to finish and step out.
