As the hours of this mostly insignificant Wednesday tick away, perhaps we should enjoy a little Tom Lehrer.

 
PC often says things like "that the war will occur on a Wednesday in the middle of the year and the 2012 Olympic Games is not held".

What if the 2012 Olympic Games are canceled for some reason other than a war occurring in today, will that be a partially accurate prophesy?

Already partially accurate then - they've cut 30 mins off the opening ceremony :eek:
 
That's a sponsorship issue - McDonald's don't want the Olympic Flame to be involved in the opening ceremony in case it makes people think about Flame-Grilled Whoppers instead of Big Macs. Removing that part has shortened the ceremony quite handily.
 
I'm starting to think that I'm not going to meet Jesus and his dad today. And I put on my best pants. I could have saved them for Friday night, had I known it was still going to occur. Very annoyed with this teasing God. :rolleyes:

Well, to think that in the decades PeaceCrusader has been visiting and listening to this woman, she has said absolutely nothing wrong seems very farfetched to me. I honestly don't see why this failure would be the one to change his mind. The End of the World™ seems like a rather insignificant thing to these people...

In a few hours, Wednesday will be finished in Australia but the day has just started in some parts of the US. I have been checking the news at the disputed Spratly Islands in the South China Sea because I firmly believe that it will be there where World War III will start.

I got my hair cut yesterday for this!:D

BTW on our station's morning show I had a camera aimed out the window so that I could switch to it asap if something nasty happened.
Not a total waste, I used the shot in our weather report.

It's now 12:55 p.m. U.S. Central Daylight Time in Military City U.S.A. and so far the only rumble that's been heard is some thunder that hopefully will accompany some rain, preferably on my yard and on the aquifer recharge zone.

P.C., if your Holy Spirit could accomplish that I might be persuaded to think about starting to consider believing.

Two and Half Men

You clearly don't have the slightest clue what you are talking about. After being lit up by a few nukes, no town would be rebuilt for thousands of years. There will be nothing but scorched ground for miles and miles around.

As others have mentioned, PC, this scenario you are looking forward to is undescribable in its horror. While you ought to be ashamed for listening to the old crone, you should be far more ashamed for talking about a nuclear exchange as if it were some trifle... a mere bagatelle. It's not.

Working nine to five, what a way to make a living

I have been trying to get Peace Crusader to understand the extent of the destruction which would be caused by a global eight hour nuclear war, but he is either ignoring me or does not believe it. I think he thinks that the conflagration Ka Apaz predicts will be like a short rainstorm which happens to kill a few non-essential people, mostly the ones who aren't involved in government, transport, emergency services, shops, schools and utilities. After the war, I think he is expecting that all the infrastructure and systems of a country will be largely untouched, and the dead people will leave perfectly intact houses behind.

It is fortunate that this prophecy is a load of nonsense, but terribly sad that Peace Crusader will be disappointed by the lack of TEOTWAWKI. Anyone else would be joyful that two thirds of mankind remain alive.
