Geological and archaeological evidence for/against the flood/CTE

Yes, I think they do.
The basic argument seems to be that we'd expect the landscape and the biosphere to look a certain way if the Genesis account is correct, and neither appearance is consistent with those expectations.

Are you going to check out if it's true and, if it is, are you willing to reconsider your position ?

I've seen those arguments, but the evidence is so weak that I usually dismiss them. I may be entirely wrong, and would love to learn that I am--but my interpretation is that the anomalies that pop up during reversals provide sufficient protection to mitigate the radiation.
Damn! Another cool hypothesis destroyed by evidence! ;)

The idea that there was a global flood is debunked by curious minded pre-schoolers. Not to mention that understandings of human history and modern animal distributions contradict such an idea.

It died as part of scientific explanations of the world for these kinds of reasons.

To the first question: yes I did.

To the second: I'm waiting to see what the Woodmorappe books says.

One question about reading the woodmorappe book though.
From the reviews I've seen it seems to be written with the basic premise that the story of the arc MUST be true and then seeks to look for evidence proving it.
Will you cross-examine their evidence with independent sources that do not care about the truth of biblical stories one way or the other? Such as the information available from numerous zoological collections about the amounts of waste materials produced by animals and their food consumption?
Or the nautical information about the seaworthyness of wooden ships?

I will certainly consider such information if it is presented. Other than looking for some direct refutations of Woodmorappe, I won't likely try to track down much of this information on my own.

It has been presented, and the above is clearly untrue. Several back-of-the-envelope calculations were provided regarding animal feeding and waste, and were ignored.

Sorry, but the above statement cannot be characterized other than as a lie.

Just to be clear: Are you saying you're going to take Woodmorappe at his word? With little knowledge of ship building, animal husbandry, etc?

I'm not saying anything about you one way or another; I just want to be clear that 1) you're not going to examine the claims in-depth, and 2) you don't know enough about the relevant fields to be considered an expert yourself.

You're reading it wrong. I've never known Avalon to lie directly, though the wringers he puts the truth through often give it similar wrinkles.

When he said he would "consider" the information, I have no doubt that's exactly what he'll do. But to consider something does not mean you'll accept it, nor even take it seriously. I consider the arguments of my local homeless guy when I pass him on the street - maybe Congress really is full of mutant commie lizards after all - but I'd never actually believe he's anything but crazy.

We'll see.

Once this or any thread becomes a personal forum on my honesty or any other judgement of me as a person, I don't hesitate to drop it.

This one has. I'm done here.

The Woodmorappe book has arrived; I'm looking forward to see what it says. Feel free to ask me on some other thread or by PM if you're interested.

So intellectual integrity isn't a valid topic, even though you've said you're not willing to do any additional research, other than reading a single book, to determine if what that book says is true.

My opinion of you drops just a little more each time I talk to you...

Guess we did see.

I think it's just a poor excuse. It's not the first time he's been under pressure and then pretends to be offended and runs off.

He's done it to me numerous times, mostly when I show that I'm not a complete neophyte when it comes to Christian religion.

I can't believe it. I've spent the last three days reading this bloody thread, I get to the end and Avalon decided to nick off. I was going to ask him to watch these two videos by NonStampCollector which describe just how hard it must have been for Noah.

They're worth a look if you've not seen them. If you're in any doubt, assume that they are NSFW.
