Millions.
Is it more than sixteen million? Because that would be 1% of the world's Muslims.
Millions.
Just looked it up here, Switzerland 5.7% Muslim, United States 0.8% Muslim.
I hope I don't have to eat my words if our percentage gets as high as yours.
I am in the UK and I am glad we do not have such crazy laws here but suspect it is only a matter of time before it is pushed for at some point in the future given the current climate.
Let's say, for the sake of argument, that it's only 2 million. Does that number fail to clear the bar for being considered "lots"?Is it more than sixteen million? Because that would be 1% of the world's Muslims.
I agree. Here in the U.S. there is a disturbing trend to attribute to all Muslims what people are seeing on the international news. A while back, I asked someone to imagine that Eric Robert Rudolph, who planted the bomb at the Olympic Games, had done so not in Atlanta, but rather in, say, Kuala Lumpur, and that he had succeeded in killing a large number of people. Imagine then that the Muslim population acted as though his actions were representative of the majority of Christians and treated them accordingly. My personal position on religion is I am am an aethiast however I respect the right of those who are religious to express their beleif on the provisio they do not force it on to me or others.
This runs for Christians, jews, Muslims, Hindus, Bhuddists, pagans et al.
Now it strikes me that currently islamphobia has become a socially acceptable form of hatred, this troubles me deeply how far are we away from placing increasingly stringent restrictions on Muslims and even possibly excluding them from national life in whatever polities and communiteis they happen to reside in.
I fully expect to get flamed about this but the degradation of one persons freedom leads ultimatly to the degradation of my freedom.

It is a lot when compared to zero. It is small when compared to 1 billion.
Why do you think that? Something must have prompted you to make the statement that Muslims are excluded from national life and are suffering stringent restrictions. Give some examples of how this is manifest in the UK.
I said I am glad we do not have such crazy laws as you find in France and Belgium stating what people can and cnanot wear in public.
I did not say the UK has such laws I am glad we do not and remain a free society.

I'm more scared of Muslims, because they seem more hardcore then most Christians.... especially in Europe. In the Western world it seems the only hardcore Christians seem to exist in the bible belt in the US.. there are other groups around.. every community has Mormons or jehovah witness's....... but the real hardcore type, of the western world, only seem to exist in the bible belt. Further to that, hardcore Christians in the western world argue against gay marriage.... or teaching evolution in the classrooms.... In the Muslim world I see... evolution isn't even considered and the debate seems whether or not homosexuals should be executed.

I don't hate Islam..... but I'll admit it.... I fear it more then other religions.
Isamophobia the socially acceptable hatred?
No. Go around proclaiming you hate the Institute of Structural Macrokinetics and Materials Science (Russian Academy of Sciences), and people will look at you like you are a crazy person.
Try living here!
This is false. Most majority-Muslim countries (Saudi Arabia, as usual, being a glaring exception) teach evolution in schools. And not just secularized ones like Turkey, either; theocratic Iran teaches straight-up Darwinan evolution (something which Turkey's most prominent Muslim creationist, Adnan Oktar - aka Harun Yahya - has angrily criticised).
Again, that's far from universal. Most Muslim countries are far behind when it comes to LGBTQ rights (and, sadly, are not getting much better thanks to Saudi influence), but execution is only the penalty in the most extreme. The largest LGBTQ film festival in Asia, for instance, is held in Indonesia, the most populous Muslim nation in the world and where homosexuality is not officially illegal (though gay Indonesians suffer from it being a sometimes violently-opposed social taboo).
