Will you believe in the Holy Spirit when His prophecies of a world war happening on either 2012-07-11 or 2012-07-18, and the 2012 Olympic Games in London is cancelled, because of this war?
One is the loneliest number. . .
No, because even on the highly improbable event that global nuclear war starts on one of those dates, there would still be no reason to believe that there is anything to this Holy Spirit prophecy business. Prophecies of such things attributed to divine revelation have failed literally thousands of times. There is not a single solitary documented case where they have come true. So even if any of these extremely improbable things happened this time, it would still not be reasonable to believe your superstitious nonsense or put any credence in mythological entities.
[ETA: I refer you to a good article on
coincidence or the law of truly large numbers. Since there are some 7 billion people on this planet saying all sorts of things every day, even if some very low probability coincidence like this happens, there is no reason to jump to supernatural explanations. And in my personal experience, religious nutjobs who make doomsday predictions tend to make them repeatedly, over and over, even after failure after failure. So those extremely slim odds are increased that much more.
I would further point out, though, that your prophecy doesn't even have internal logical consistency--meaning it can't possibly happen. It is not possible for global nuclear war to happen, wiping out 1/4 of the world's population and contaminating our food supply, and then we have a restored safe food supply 3 days later. It's not possible for nuclear weapons to kill one sex so selectively more than another. In fact, that part sounds like a sophomoric sexual fantasy. You should maybe try your hand--ahem--at writing comic books.]
But it doesn't matter, because world war won't happen on either of those dates, and the London Olympics will not be cancelled. So the more important question is, when that happens, will you admit that you are simply
wrong?
And why, since you are wrong, will you continue looking for your "one true God" even though the thing you really believed was it, was wrong?
