• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

Echopedia

I think a lot of the sites that copy each other are aggregator sites. The owners theoretically get ad money from your visits and the content is irrelevant. The articles are provided by contributors that probably get paid based on a certain number of articles they contribute so they put together as many articles as possible with as little effort as possible. The owners of the site are willfully ignorant of plagiarized content and will probably remove it if asked and they will say they are not responsible for the content provided by their contributors.

Yes. Something that you find yourself doing "all the time," that is, over and over again, is something you do "continually". Most people continually eat for their entire lives, and most people also continually defecate for their entire lives.

Except that it was my intent to say that I never stopped telling them to avoid plagiarism. Why is it so hard to admit that you peeved incorrectly?

I hope you interrupt that time occasionally to teach them other things.

Not trying to start a fight. AvalonXQ is right though.

No. It was my intent to say that I told them that plagiarism was wrong constantly, without interruption, thus the provided definition of continuous, that it is uninterrupted in time. Very clearly this is hyperbole, but there's nothing inherently wrong about the statement; it means what was written, not what you and AvalonXQ apparently believe I should have written.

I agree with AvalonXQ and Careyp74. Your mistake made you come across as an illiterate peasant.

Something you do constantly, without ever stopping, is something you do continuously. Pretty much nobody eats or defecates continuously for any significant fraction of their lives; even eating or defecating continously for two hours is usually considered disgusting. Eating and defecating continuously would be even more disgusting (as, by definition, neither would be interrupted during the other).

The words are related but not the same.

Even though that is true, it is perfectly fine to use continuously to add intended embellishment or exaggeration to your statement.

jasonpatterson wins :D

BTW, the 2nd to last continuously in your 2nd paragraph is misspelled.

That's two strikes for Avalon. :D

Oh, and let's not forget about the word "constantly"!

I can accept that he is using it as hyperbole. Like everyone throwing literally around as if it has more than one definition.
