2% think he's a Roman Catholic? What's up with that?

I'd say the man wears so many false faces it's impossible to know what he really believes.

After all, his supporters claim (with some credibility) that he doesn't believe that hateful **** preached at that church he belonged to for 20 years. And some Real AtheistsTM want to claim him despite all evidences to the contrary.

Because he's lying to those other folks because he has to. To get ahead you see. Right?

But he says Christian so go with that. Or ...

It's amazing that more think he is Muslim, 11%, than his actual UCC. Reverend Wright's digs are only a 15-20 minute drive from my home, near his partner in crime, Fr. Pfleger.
 
I think if they had simply pout the option "christian" on there the results would've been largely different. They didn't see a need to break Muslim down into denominations, why do it with Christian?

Seriously, all this poll proves is that 44% of the respondents are morons.

Does the fact that those questions are posed by political, partisan hacks hold sway with you or do just parrot what others say because you can't think for yourself?
 
Well, I think as long as they know he's Christian, I can understand not knowing the exact denomination.

I don't get the Catholic thing either, though. Maybe Wright's robes look kind of priestly, but that's the only thing I can think of.

It wasn't a multiple choice question. They're just reporting the answers they received. Many people just answered "Christian" or "Protestant", and those answers were counted as correct.
Others named a more specific Christian group, and many of those were wrong.

No, I think those 44% are the ones who answered "no" to the initial question.
 
Also, you can't impugn folks' intelligence for failing to trust Obama's profession of faith. The man is on record for having a patronizing and dismissive view of religion that many faithful find to be abhorrent.

If polled, I would probably say "Christian" because that's what he claimed. But I also think "who knows?" and "none" are also answers an informed person could give.

And I have friends who pay close attention to politics and nonetheless buy into the "secret Muslim" paranoia, as well.

I say he's making it up. Just like all those other 'Christians' who dare speak for God in regards to another person's relationship to God. They don't know, can't know, and smugly pass judgement based only on their own assumptions.

The point being made about that was that the pollsters first asked people if they knew what Obama's religion was, then they asked only those who said yes, okay, what is his religion?

I would have said, I don't know but it's one of those hate America religions.
