Anyone watching Q&A? However scary Abbott is, Barnarby Joyce is worse. This guy is a true imbecile. He is against selling land "to the Chinese", yet is happy for them to own mines.

I had to miss Q&A for the bloody exam (which finished at 10pm, ridiculously). I'll catch up after tomorrow's (which starts at 9am, ridiculously).

Although because it's finance did you also try Wayne Swan?

:D I was going to respond, "Well, could you ask Swannie?"

I don't have a twitter so I can't. But then why would I need to ask the finance minister to sit someone else's exam?

:eek: I checked to see who was on Q&A next week and found out it'll be Julia Gillard. I'm catching up on the last episode now. Barnaby is insufferable but he does have some pretty good one-liners, still not as good as King Keating:

"You boxhead, you wouldn't know. You are flatout counting past ten." (Of Wilson Tuckey)

"That you Jim [McClelland]? Paul Keating here. Just because you swallowed a f****** dictionary when you were about 15 doesn't give you the right to pour a bucket of s*** over the rest of us."

Doesn't surprise me. Isn't he meant to be MR. Micro manager? Or was that just rumour spread by the 'faceless men'?

He has his faults. ;) I was worried about him once, but now his faults seem to pale in comparison to the faults of others. Maybe he will learn to

* use the talents of others, he's not the only intelligent person there.
* delegate
* consult.

Maybe it's possible he can. I have believe that Gillard is nowhere near as bad as she has been made out to be, that much of the blame attributed to her is really blame that the whole Labor party should shoulder. She can't win the next election. If they have any brains, get her to buy back some lefty voters who have abandoned them by bringing in same sex marriage, then just before the election, hand over to Rudd or someone else. That would seriously derail the Libs, they would be stuck with Abbott, who is facing a disapproval rating as high as hers.

Recently on the Insiders program on the ABC they made the point that polling for people believing what Gillard was telling the truth has dropped from about 50% to 30%. Abbotts has always been about 30% for the whole time he has been the leader of the opposition. That has to be a worry for the Libs, especially in Labor changes leadership.

Funny you brought in the public's trust statistics. The first thing I thought of when I read a_unique_person's opinion about having her support same-sex marriage was how it'll give the Opposition a bigger "LIAR!" stick to smack her over the head with.

I'm watching The Drum, and apparently there are rumours of Peter Costello looking for a safe seat in Queensland, which he is denying. Could you imagine that, though?

Whatever his attributes as a treasurer, Peter Costello hasn't got the nous to be a political leader. John Howard played him like a fiddle the whole time they were in office.

Hasn't he burnt all his bridges?

I recently got a letter from Lyn Palmer in the mail and each day on my way to work I pass a billboard with his ugly mug on it. Now, that is stuff of nightmares.

Here he is telling lies about the Greens and the C.I.A., lies which he confessed too and now he wants my vote. What a joke. That guy has to much money

Well if Costello does come back as Treasurer we might see the opposition come up with policies that don't have black holes in them.

Clive Palmer not Lyn - I work with a Lyn Palmer. Sorry about that
