Trayvon Martin, Vigilante Justice

Thorough ? How can that be .... :id:

The thing the state has to avoid at all costs is two government investigations at odds with each other. I guess Rionda is gonna have to glaze over the differences between the two. This isn't a whodunit...it's about the theory of a reasonable person. If you have state officials at odds with each other (even just a little bit), you have built-in reasonable doubt. Wrap all that with a possible DOJ investigation, and you have good reason for some make nice from the SAO.

Florida teenager trayvon martin died from a single bullet wound to his chest. fired from a gun at intermediate range, according to an autopsy report prepared by a medical examiner and reviewed today by nbc news. there was one other fresh injury on martin's body, according to the report, an abrasion, no more than a quarter of an inch in size to his left ring finger below the knuckle.

Hard to believe the funeral home director would have missed such a significant injury.

And this media outlet says the medical examiner's report describes *plural*... broken skin on the knuckles.

Yet that news story doesn't seem to be internally consistent:
WFTV has learned that the medical examiner found two injuries on Martin’s body: The fatal gunshot wound and broken skin on his knuckles.

Multiple injuries on the knuckles plus the gun shot wound would equal more than two injuries.

Well he is a lifelong NAACP member. Obviously a radical.

Question. Was Trayvon a lefty? If not, why is the only mark on his off hand? Isn't he supposed to have hit Zimmerman more than once with his hand?

I hope the media asks the funeral director to reconcile the (alleged) autopsy report of broken skin on the knuckles with his claim:
Richard Kurtz told CBS News that when he was preparing the teen's body for the funeral, it was clear of bruises, cuts and scrapes or any other signs of a fight that he would have covered up for the teen's wake.

Hard to believe the funeral home director would have missed such a significant injury.

So it's ok, because he is just a funeral director, and how could a mere funeral director tell a cut on the knuckles from a non-cut, right ? Maybe he missed it because there wasn't a bandage ?

I'm going to say that the FD meant there were no signs that TM had been in a fight with GZ. That is, TM was not beaten up.

http://www.hlntv.com/article/2012/03/28/funeral-director-saw-no-signs-fight-trayvons-hands

The funeral director who prepared Trayvon Martin’s body for burial told HLN’s Nancy Grace Wednesday that he did not see any cuts or bruises on the teen’s hands that would have been indicative of a struggle with George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed the Florida teen.
...

“As for his hands and knuckles, I didn’t see any evidence he had been fighting anybody,” Kurtz said.

Carefully chosen words... :)

TM was apparently beating someone up, not fighting them.

So the million dollar question becomes, if two men are in a fight, and one receives moderately serious injuries from it, while the other has virtually no injuries from it (discounting the bullet hole currently), which is the one likely to be screaming for help, the one who is having injuries inflicted, or the one inflicting them?

They are ? Do you have a link ? I have only seen the testimony of gilbreath that their voice analysis was not useful to the state.
It was in a news story I read, I'll be damned if I can locate it now though.

Prosecution: The one with a gun pointed at him.

Defense: The one being beaten up.

Maybe he missed it because it was so minor.

fatal gunshot wound = 1 injury
broken skin on his knuckles =1 injury
1+1=2 injuries ... seems like it adds up to me.

You might want to check WFTV's math:
WFTV has confirmed that autopsy results show 17-year-old Trayvon Martin had injuries to his knuckles when he died.
