I still don't get it, Klein interviewed Wright. He published part of it in a well-known NYC rag, and it's been picked up my multiple other news outlets. Wright is almost certainly aware of this story, don't you think he'd deny it if it wasn't true?

This is far different from Chaos' "analogy" where Chaos doesn't even claim to have interviewed Bush, let alone published it where it would be seen by millions.

It's not a "story repeated", it's a published first-person account by a named source.

The New York Post story, which hasn't been denied by Wright.

If Wright denied saying it you'd have a point, but as it stands he hasn't denied it.

IMHO, if someone's lying about this it's Wright, not Klein.
