Ed Rob Menard's FOTL Claims

so tell me why do they believe this?
I would say they want (or more likely need) to believe this so they can feel justified in not repaying the loan. By convincing themselves they are creating the money it fuels their belief the bank is acting in a fraudulent manner.

It's a manifestation of a common human belief in 'magic' and that if you can learn to do x or y it will work

Oh my goodness!

I think Stacy (and the others who have replied..thanks BTW) is/are correct. The Menards of the world need to believe this ..nonsense isnt a strong enough word but I dont want another infraction so it will have to suffice...in order for everything to fit in there other core belief that the entire system we live in is a sham and they are the enlightened ones who know the truth.

The sad part is..even with that being said..there is nothing to back that belief other than blind 'want'....

Were did the 'money from thin air' and 'signature creates money' originate? It had to have a beginning somewhere.

PS: I love this thread because it is just so mind boggling (and eye opening) that Menard and his ilk even give a passing glance to this outright incorrect idiocy.

Why in the world would any sane person want to believe the bank is acting in a fraudulent manner?

Is not that akin to wanting to beleive that everyone is a crook and wanting to beleive you can't get ahead in this world.....I guess I do not understand the logic...and for that I am grateful

Bingo!

Me give money to Rob???? i don't think so.

I had enough of laughing at him about a year ago when i realised why was i wasting my time with this. I say if rob can get some moron to give him money for his bull then so what, people give money to the catholics. You even see begging letters here and for what? A few sanctimonious folk can go ooh there is no such thing as mediums or hold wee conferences with other dull people to congratulate themselves on how super clever they are cause they don't believe in fairies. A pointless load of old hamshank. At least Rob, in his mind, is a freedom fighter, he's han solo, he's william wallace, he's out there smoking dope and shouting down with this sort of thing to people who like hearing that this sort of thing should be down with.

Keep up the fight Rob and don't let the bastards grind you down.

Like I have said I have an old friend who really got messed up believing in and acting upon the sort of stuff Menard pedals.

I am glad you aren’t giving Menard any money. But years ago my friend was ruined after acting on the same advice Menard has since only recycled.

Menard is not a great man and his way of fighting has ruined too many people.

Because it gives them a simple explanation for why their life is ****, that doesn't put the blame on them. There's no coincidence that this has had a resurgence in the years since the economic melt down.

If they believe the bank is acting fraudulently, then it's not their fault their house was foreclosed on, their car was repossessed, their credit cards were revoked, and they have debt collectors hounding them. Oh, no, "It was all those Banksters' fault, for tricking me into consenting to a loan that they created out of thin air. In fact, they owe me millions of dollars! How do you like that, Banksters!?!?!?"

That makes perfect sense. Very good answer. Why take responsibility for there own actions when they can blame others without subjecting themselves to self scrutiny...and to top it off they claim they are acting self responsible, and we are just "children of the nanny state"

I always love how the "fraudulent" behavior of banks is only a problem to freemen when the banks try to collect on their loans.

we live in is a sham and they are the enlightened ones who know the truth.

Problem is, we are not in prison/mental facilities whereas Menards marks are after following, (maybe even paying him $850), are!

Probably from quote mining economic text books.

Borrowers do create something of value (an IOU) when they sign a promissory note. What FOTLers purposely ignore is that the bank does exactly the same thing when it credits a borrower's bank account with the loan.

they also fail to grasp the fact that although the bank may have recouped its money early by floating the mortgage on the open market, the debt still has to be paid to the new owner of the mortgage note.

or something

Ah yes, lack of "full disclosure" means the borrower gets to keep what he purchased for free.

It was this FOTL crap about banks that finally drove me away from the freeman forums (they couldn't add one and one if their life depended on it). It has the perverse effect of making it appear that banks are sacrosanct.

Rob hasn't ruined anyone they ruined themselves. You are responsible for yourself and if you believe in any old rubbish it's your look out.

Menard is responsible for his actions, the rule doesnt only apply to others. His actions have consequences, and he is not absolved of these. I agree that we all have, or if not, need to have, personal responsibility. that being said, when you go to a percieved professional, there needs to be fraud checks in place. Make no mistake, Menard is peddling fraud, and needs to be kept in check. Someone has to look out for the 'little guy' Bob. Mammals as a whole are a non confrontational species, so most just 'let things it go'. In this case, be thankful for the ones that don't.

Maybe your 'friend' shouldn't have been a total moron.

Maybe. However, the reality is he or she fell for Menards junk, moron or not. Thats the issue, not personal responsibiltiy, on which I agree. Menard is peddling garbage like it is Cavier...and that is fraud. You have every right to know the experation date on your milk Bob. Not only that, the method used to derive that date needs to be sound. If you buy milk with a fraudulent experation date, and get sick....I would not see you as a total moron. Is that how you would see yourself? After all, you bought the milk, and take personal responsibility for your actions.

What does it say about folk who obsessively follow rob around.

Not sure, havent given it much thought, because I could NOT care less. What's your viewpiont, and why?

Folks need to admit to themselves that they don't care about other people they just get off on taking the piss out of rob, which is fair enough but don't dress it up as if you're doing a public service.

Very broad sweeping brushstrokes Bob. Generally, people do care about other people, so why should they admit an untruth? Also, it is a 'public service' to the public being defrauded, albeit small scale.

I can think of a million other things worth getting upset about before some delusional people thinking they are freemen.

So? So can I. Yet, with that line of logic, one would never deal with anything because there would always be bigger fish to fry. You are like the person who gets pulled over for speeding Bob and tells the officer he should not be wasting time on his/her speeding because there are murders loose.
