North Korea launches rocket

Well, it seems to be confirmed now that the test was a failure, and the rocket crashed into the ocean. Perhaps the North Korean gov't can claim a victory, "North Korea proves ability to launch attacks against ocean-based attacks!"

The concern now is that they'll follow this up with a nuclear test, in order to try to save face.

Yeah, it was declared as a satellite launch - their third one - but I don't think anyone is fooled into thinking any satellites are in space.

I think even the North Korean people are told in nudge-nudge wink-wink fashion, "We told the dumb West it was a satellite launch. Haw Haw Haw!"

Godzilla saves Japan.....................again

I just hope the first stage worked well enough to determine if it was a nuclear missile test, rather than attempted satellite launch. From what I red prior to launch, this is possible to determine early on in the launch sequence from the trajectory.

Hehe, the guy just said that the last time it also was a failure, but they announced to their own people it was in orbit singing revolutionary songs.

I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Surely a singing rocket is something to be applauded. Much nicer than all those ones which just go BOOM!

Why, if they continue this development we might see gardening rockets, or nursing rockets in old folks' homes. The possibilities...

North Korea "launches" "rocket"

And while the rocket was failing, Kim Jong Il was appointed Eternal Chairman of the National Defense Commission. The top two jobs in the country are now in the hands of dead people.
The zombie apocalypse will start in North Korea

“The North Koreans have managed in a single stroke to not only defy the U.N. Security Council, the United States and even their patron China, but also demonstrate ineptitude,” Mr. Noland said. “Some of the scientists and engineers associated with the launch are likely facing death or the gulag as scapegoats for this embarrassment.”
