SANFORD, Fla. — Two attorneys for the Florida neighborhood watch volunteer who fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin said Tuesday that they have withdrawn as his counsel because they haven’t heard from him in days and he is taking actions related to the case without consulting them.

Attorney Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig said at a news conference they haven’t heard from George Zimmerman since Sunday. ~snip~

Sonner said they legal team had talked to Zimmerman almost every day the last couple months.

Do I have this right? Last week GZ's lawyers say Zimmermandefense.com will be GZ's Website. Monday a different named website goes live and the media reports that GZ's attorney's say it belongs to GZ. But GZ's attorneys haven't talked to GZ since Sunday, and they haven't been able to reach him so far even though they normally talk to him almost every day.

Doesn't quite make sense. Conceivably they knew he had the other domain name but I don't think so.

Zimmerman has made no public appearances and given no interviews, and has lost so much contact with his lawyers that they gathered the media in Florida on Sunday to announce that they were dropping him as a client.

During that press conference, they revealed that Zimmerman had had a conversation with Hannity.

"We learned that he had contacted Sean Hannity of Fox News directly, not through us, and we believe, I can't confirm this, we believe that he spoke directly with Sean, off the record, and he's not even willing to tell us what our client told him," attorney Hal Uhrig said.

The site they were going to set up was going to solicit funds for his legal defense. Instead he set up a site to solicit funds for his legal defense and his living expenses. It comes down to money. His lawyers wanted control over the money but he wanted to keep it for himself.

Stress could definitely be a factor, but some of the stuff on that website... I don't know. I'm not sure "tool" is a strong enough word.

I thought Zimmerman's 'lawyers' were making poor choices before, but after the press conference today, I'm going to up my assessment to incompetent.
