Just not, you know, something that will actually affect gas prices.

After sending out that memo to their PR wing Fox News and spending several weeks saying THIS ELECTION IS ALL ABOUT GAS PRICES NOW, the mere inkling that Obama may take one of the few steps available to a president that could actually affect the price of gas is giving them the vapors?

Remind me again how "red tape" is driving world oil supply prices or how Keystone will drive down fuel prices in the US?

And they don't seem to think that we are drilling like crazy right now even though we are. And I don't think we should be but we are.
 
"WE" are drilling? Who are drilling? Doesn't matter, does anybody seriously imagine that either of these will happen:

1) Owners of new oil finds will sell at prices lower than the world market prize?

2) So much new oil deposits can found within the US sphere of influence that it will seriously affect the world market prize? (Hint: If some huge deposit IS found, the OPEC will lower their production accordingly.)

The stupidity in certain places is frightening.

GOP strategy is simple just blame Obama for everything. Their throwing poop on the wall to see how much of it they can get to actually stick.
 
Weird, because I saw an analysis on Fox News about why politicians don't control gas prices at the pump. Bill O'Reilly in particular delivered a well thought out opinion piece on how we can lower prices by consuming less instead of blaming the president.

Did I mention this was what they were saying in 2008?

I believe so. When this was covered by the Daily Show, they included a recent clip of him ranting about Obama not doing enough to lower gas prices. It was part of a montage of several of the Fox talking heads making similar points. The piece concluded with one of the talking heads (Ducey, I think) making a direct reference to the memo received from the RNC.
