Triumph of the Bigoted, Intolerant Left: Buchanan Fired

If you seek to turn off somebody's micophone, you are against him speaking freely, first amendment or no first amendment. Get it?????

Um, no. It's MSNBC's microphone, not Pat Buchanan's. No one's stopping him from making appearances on other networks, writing books, blogging, going on public speaking tours....

Sorry, I'm well within my rights to kick someone out of my house if they say something I don't like.

For example, the racist things you seem to have a problem grocking. "Interracial sex is white genocide." I'm black, my wife is white. In about a month we'll have a son. What Pat would be saying then is that it is wrong for my son to exist. In public, I would point out why he is wrong. In my house or at a business I own, I would kick him out since his right to free speech does not apply there.

Also, I can't help but laugh when someone tries to use freedom of speech as as a shield when what they really mean is they want freedom from the consequences of their speech.

There is a big problem with your analogy. It isn't Mr, Robertson's microphone. Therefore no one is against him speaking freely. The protestors were against him speaking freely on MSNBC. Mr. Robertson is still free to put his ideas in a newsletter or newspaper or blog or webcast. He is free to bring his ideas and skills to the marketplace of radio and television and see if anyone will pay him for his political insights. It is not our fault that no broadcasters in 2012 are willing to pay money to someone who thinks the period of legalized segregation and anti-miscegenation laws was a better time than today.

If I may ask a another question to help me understand your viewpoint. Was the Baptist Church being intolerant in 1996 when almost all of the approximately 13,000 delegates to the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) voted in favor of implementing a boycott of Walt Disney movies, products and theme parks?

ETA: Ravdin beat me to it.

Lots' of stuff thrown on the wall, but no one has been able to point to any racism, bigotry of intolerance on the part or Pat B.

Instead of worrying about your fake definitions of bigotry and intolerance, let's talk about you being unable to provide a shred of evidence that he was ever fired instead of flouncing.

You are merely parroting his refusal to accept responsibility for his own life choices.

There's no difference between that and the whining from burglars who sue their victims for depriving them of their source of income by calling the police.

You throw a rock up in the air, your headache is your fault, no one else's. You write an offensive book, people turning their backs is your fault, no one else's.

Though his weird letter claims he's been blacklisted.

Gee, why would a bunch of firms doing business with the public want to blacklist a repulsive slimeball who drives away all but the creepy customers?

Who references anything about the First Amendment?? Except you? Intolerance, Bigotry, that's the what the firing is all about.
Buchanan does. From your link:

All the while prattling about their love of dissent and devotion to the First Amendment, they seek systematically to silence and censor dissent

Of course he's bearing false witness, just like you.

Since you both reference Christian morals as well, if you ever get to the Pearly Gates, are you going to tell them Pat sent you?

Bazinga!

Nominated.

I gave you eight examples and, yet, you are blinded to it.

What would you consider to be an example of racism against black or Hispanic people, Robert?
Are you kidding? If Buchanan said he was in favor of lynching negros, Robert would claim that Pat was just trying to "uplift them out of their current situation."*

*Note: This is meant as sarcasm, not that Robert would actually say such a thing on the boards.

If you can't see the racism in those items, then I can only come up with two logical scenarios:
  1. You are incapable of reading with comprehension.
  2. You are so racist yourself that his comments seem perfectly normal to you.

Or

3. He knows full well Buchanan is racist, and he's just being a bloody-minded liar.

Oh I get it. So Robert if you owned a microphone you would allow me to use it to spread my views that we need more socialism, less religion and gay rights? Oh and you would provide me with a salary to do so?

I mean that is pretty awesome of you to do so in order to not be intolerant, a bigot and against free speech.

4. He's writing poems about ravens.
Ya know, I flip flop on this. If I didn't actually know RP like people who were dead serious, I be with you 100%.

Edit - either way, however, much like those I know, I refuse to entertain them with responses. In person, I change the subject. If I don't, my wife gives me a yellow card ;)

That's well said. Pat was on their dime, and thus at their discretion to hire or fire.

"When you take the network's shilling ..."
