Pentagon Security Videos Update

Passive CCTV systems are by design set up to record the camera inputs.

No matter how many times you assert this, it will not magically become true. Every major CCTV system is specifically designed for the purpose it is being installed. Whether recording is incorporated into that design, and the nature of that recording, is dependent entirely on the system's purpose.

While it is true that there are many "pre-packaged" CCTV systems available for specific tasks, these are limited to small business applications and not relevant when discussing the highly-specialised and very sensitive systems utilised as security systems in major installations such as The Pentagon.

Even were it true that virtually all CCTV systems are recorded (and that's not true), given how unique and specific the Pentagon is, assuming that rule applied would be unjustified.

The only facts we can actually be sure of, at this point in time are:

1. There are security cameras at The Pentagon
2. Some of these cameras are recorded

Anything beyond that is nothing more than speculation, and to claim otherwise is nonsense. And given the sensitive nature of the subject in question, the odds are pretty much zero of anything more definitive ever being revealed. I suspect a direct question to the DOD about how many cameras are recorded at the Pentagon would result in a pretty blunt "National Security" refusal.

No sir, sitting on your butt at a computer and talking trash about other peoples productive efforts without contributing any original work of your own is sad. I am 'retired', but instead of going fishing I actually go out and get the data and documentation so folks like you can sit and ponder what it all means. Someone has got to give you something to moan about :)

Productive? 4 years and thousands of dollars. too funny.

Get out, go fishing, go golfing. It will make no difference to 911.

So far I see no indication that any of these fixtures are cameras at all. In fact, the one closeup we see is almost certainly a floodlight fixture, on a goose-neck, pointing straight down. Anyone who has driven past the Pentagon at night knows that there are floods lighting up every side of the building -- some from the top, others mounted down in the lawn.

I retired from the place a few yrs before 9-11, in 1985, and there were NO cameras mounted on the outside of the building that I ever saw. I also know that the occasional mobs of peacenik protestors were monitored by the guard force thru direct observation (usually inside patrol cars) and occasionally spotters on the roof with binoculars. If cameras had been installed, none of this would have been necessary.

So far I have never heard one logical purpose for these imaginary cameras that the Truthie Cult insists must have been there. To get really neat footage of the rats in the dumpsters? or nooners taking place in the parking lots?

There are over 8 million images of the Pentagon just on Google Image. If there were any cameras mounted out there, some Truther would have found a photo by now. There are many dozens of residential balconies nearby with good views of the Pentagon, and certainly a lot of Truthies by now would have proudly displayed telephoto shots of these cameras. If they existed.

You guys are so funny. The DoD and Navy both have acknowledged that there were cameras on the exterior of both the Pentagon and Navy Annex and that they recorded. The only real question is who has the recordings and specificly what areas were recorded. The DoD has asserted over the years that the FBI had them, the FBI denied such. Now we have the custodial record.

Why Gumboot and others are asserting nonsense that was resolved years ago is a mystery, but those who know (the DoD/Navy) have never made such assertions. As a matter of fact, Fort Myer has not only acknowledged their exterior camera footage, but were quite frank in stating the re-used the tapes. They did not save it because the FBI reveiwed the footage and saw no value in it. As evidenced by the custodial receipt, that is not the case for the footage in question.

Have they acknowldeged that any of them were pointed anywhere but at sally points? The only evidence I have seen of there having been cameras shows them covering sally points. No other cameras could have been mounted that would have shown the approach route. The only two cameras reported to have caught an image were on the same sally point. I fail to see why any other video would be of the slightest forensic value.

As mentioned already, we have no idea what areas were covered. If I had to speclate, then I would say they were pointed at access points. I doubt seriously that any were pointed specificly at the impact area.

ETA: As far as 'forensic value' goes, they may have little for the layperson. However, for the trained eye they may hold great value. For instance, there are two unaccounted for helicopters in the impact zone within 10 minutes of impact. One is a MUS flight out of Andrews and the second a Park Police helicopter which according to Naval historians was dispatched to attempt to 'divert' AAL77. There is a video record of the MUS helicopter from the DT cameras, but so far nothing for the Park Police helicopter. So the value is primarily historical, but I doubt if they do more than confirm what is already known.

Lost in Space

I'm bumping because there is another thread discussing the Pentagon videos so I figured it was time to update this one.

The FBI has acknowledged that the videos in the OP did show up in their indices. However, when they went to look for them, they could not find them in the location indicated in their records. I will not post the relevant documentation at this point because the FOIA is subject to administrative appeal and perhaps additional judicial appeal.

In other words ... they are lost in "space".

just a bump, has there been any further news regarding the videos being 'lost in space'?

Lost? oh dear. :boxedin:

No news. They "lost" the OKC videos and I imagine these will endure a similar fate. Perhaps in 20 - 30 years some clerk will find them somewhere. As for me, I've pretty much ended my FOIA efforts, although another individual is pursuing the matter.

All of my stuff is available at 911 Datasets along with other materials related to 9/11. Easily accessed with P2P software.

Thanks for your effort BCR, and cheers for the link to your material, it seems you past link which was hosted on mega-upload has gone down with the site :-(

Ditto.

Thanks for your efforts.

Who has picked up the torch?

Lost? Yeah sure.

You truly believe that?

You truly believe that?

Well, based on the 0% evidence of anything other than Flight 77 hitting the pentagon, and the well known incompetence of large organizations (particularly government operated ones), I would confidently say that he does believe the taps have been lost/misplaced, as is very likely.

It's either;

(A) Taps are lost.
(B) They don't want to release them yet for what ever reason.
(C) They have been destroyed because they showed a missile hitting the pentagon.

Rational and logical people would choose (A) or (B). You on the other hand seem to have chosen (C), ignoring all evidence/eye witnesses to the contrary and focusing singularly on this one flawed idea that if it's not on camera/youtube then it never happen.

Hey Clayton, I bet Conrad Murray didn't cause the death of Michael Jackson; after all, it's not on video.

Since Clayton likes movie analogies, here is the Raiders of the Lost Ark analogy:

It's either;

(A) Taps are lost.
(B) Tapes have degraded from misuse and are useless.(C) They don't want to release them yet for what ever reason.
(D) They have been destroyed because they showed a missile hitting the pentagon.

FTFY.

At least that's been my experience. There's been countless times over the years when I've asked my security contractor for a surveillance tape and for the most part, I'm usually given something like this:

This is what happens to a VHS tape that's stuffed into a VCR and recycled over and over, without being changed. In my time, I've encountered tapes that haven't been changed in years. I'd imagine more than a few of the fabled "85 tapes" were in such a state and as such, thrown out.

It's either that or the security contractors I've dealt with over the years have been slowly smuggling therm*te into my buildings. :eye-poppi

Who has picked up the torch?

He does not wish to be known at this particular time. You know how it is in the crazy world of 9/11 Truth. He prefers to work without the distractions at this point.
