Help please: Have I missed a major Joe Biden gaffe?

I am not a US citizen but I try to keep up with political developments of our benevolent overlords the USA.

Which brings me to my question: Since him declaring war on custard producers in June 2010, I have not heard of a Joe Biden gaffe. Have I missed one or were they simply drowned out by the cavalcade of ridiculousness cavalcade of ridiculousness that is the GOP candidate search?

I have a bonus question: In 2008, John McCain choose Sarah Palin as his running mate. What would have been realistic alternatives at the time?

Mike Huckabee? Maybe Mitt Romney. But wouldn't Rudy Giuliani have been a perfect more moderate complement to the conservative McCain?

Thank you.

Hard to remember but there was a brief period where Hillary Clinton appeared to many to be a practical VP choice for McCain.

Actually, McCain's history of behavior made him one of the most moderate Republicans to viably seek the GOP nomination in more than decade. Palin was chosen specifically to give McCain some conservative cred.

And, let's be frank, she was picked over other conservatives to pull the upset Clinton supporters in the wake of her loss to Obama.

There was this one a few weeks ago:
Oops, he did it again.

Vice President Joe Biden drew a round of boos Wednesday afternoon when he told a crowd at a campaign event in San Francisco that "the Giants are on their way to the Super Bowl."
Now, there is a team called the San Francisco Giants... but they play baseball. The New York Giants are playing in the Super Bowl.

Wrong city, wrong coast, wrong team, wrong sport... this is why Biden has been kept on a short leash.

eta: and what made it even more egregious is he said this prior to the NFC Championship game, which was the New York Giants vs. the San Francisco 49ers.

A seemingly ridiculous, and potentially sexist proposal, regardless of where it originates (I have heard it in comments from both McCain and Obama supporters, but not from any Clinton supporters, then or since)

Now that's not bad - and funny - but more of a gaffette, a demi-fauxpas, a gaffe amuse-bouche. Granted, Rick Perry and Herman Cain have raised the bar quite a bit. But it is a beginning.

To clarify, I am not looking for Bidens just to point fingers. I almost like the guy since, and I unfortunately can't remember the exact occasion and opponent, his grilling of some shmuck in a hearing. I just remember the vigor with which Biden tore into the guy, aided by Biden having common sense and moral high ground on his side.

Sour grapes, too bad the forty-whiner fans didn't appreciate the VP's prescient prognostication.

Dude, we can track IP's and we have drones. Get with the program.

I find your lack of faith disturbing. But to answer your question, hell if I know. :)

Yes, it was very sexist and an incredibly stupid move, but the other aspect was that McCain wanted to take advantage of the "historic election" vibe.

They warned me if I voted for McCain, we'd get an idiot for vice president, and they were right.

A quick Google search of "Joe Biden gaffe" turned up this treasure trove:

With, of course, no quotes after June 2010. Also, my inquiry was aimed at the knowledge of fellow forumites, which includes gathering, filtering and processing of google results, preferably with a background of education and a genuine interest in the subject; not because I am lazy, but because my meters have been broken since the 2008/09 World Economy cluster-eff.

Ok, perhaps I am a bit lazy. But I also am simply asking for a little help.

True regardless of who you voted for, or who won the election. What is more confounding is that we ended up with roughly the same president either way as well! About the only difference I see, is that McCain would have been pushed harder by strong and growing Democratic majorities in both houses to have actually prosecuted former administration and Wall Street criminal acts.

And it's likely DADT wouldn't have been repealed, and there would have been no healthcare reform at all.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the old McCain, and while he and Obama are close on many issues, I don't see them as pretty much the same.
