Well, a problem only if kundalini does in fact exist.
Whatever it is, is most definitely exists. Whatever it is, it goes by various names in various mystical traditions because it is a universal common denominator. Mystics have been experiencing it and using various metaphors to describe it for thousands and thousands of years. From different metaphors come different religions.
There are a variety of psychological postures one can take toward it that will eventually get results. For instance, as that of an inner pilgrimage to a mountain top. Or that of a hidden precious pearl. Or a Goddess. Or a Divine energy. Or a personal Holy Grail quest. Or a wedding feast. And so on. The metaphor varies but the adventure is the same. Hence, the monomyth pattern. It practically lays it all out for all to see.
“Furthermore, we have not even to risk the adventure alone; for the heroes of all time have gone before us, the labyrinth is fully known; we have only to follow the thread of the hero-path. And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god; where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves; where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence; where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world.” -Joseph Campbell
