BTW, I know aguy who used to make $100K at WalMart, he was in human resources. He quit because his commute was too far.
His ethics are fine. But his commute was way out to the northwest suburbs. But being a gay guy who likes to party in Boystown and live nearby he wanted to work closer to home.I'd wager the nightmares about his ethics didn't help.

Considering that the Walton larvae and the Koch roaches have been spending so much moneyt dismantling the middle class, perhaps as much as the banksters, I hardly find that puzzling.
It's interesting to see the far left adopting the same language as the anti-Semitic, paranoid far-right.
Not all jobs at WalMart are cashiers, greeters, and shelf stockers. Their pharmacists, for example, are paid quite handsomely, well over $100K. And they provide prescription drugs at far lower cost to patients than Mom & Pop's drug store does.I know a guy who swears that a ghost told him how to find the remains of a UFO. So what?
What's the turnover rate at Mom & Pop's?Even if your anecdote were verifiable, Walmart has poor working conditions which leads to high turnover rates.
So now the existence of a HR department is evidence of poor worker treatment? If workers are asking for more hours, trying to get any of the promised benefits, trying to get into workshops for management training, are female and can not get into those workshops even if they have seniority, or have quit and need to make sure their last paycheck is accurate - they go to HR.
A company that is dealing with great amounts of employee dissatisfaction will invest in the HR department. Highly paid HR doesn't prove that working conditions are good for workers at Walmart, especially when the high turnover rate and constant lawsuits would indicate otherwise.

Me? personally? I've been working on smaller stuff. Specifically with people who interested in working towards a state bank of California, modeled after the state-owned Bank of North Dakota.
Because I, personally, believe that new solutions can be implemented faster than re-regulation and can have a similar effect although possibly on a smaller scale.

What Mom & Pop stores offer full-time hours with benefits?
You've never worked at a small retailer, have you?
dead wrong.
i worked in photo retail for 17 years, in two high end camera stores, both small, independent businesses.

It's also interesting that the 'Anti-Semitic' slur tactic on anyone who questions the banks has recently become redundant. Another thing to thank OWS for.
