Occupy Wall Street better defend its identity

I watched the video again and I don't see anyone's mouth being forced open.

Maybe the reason they got pepper in the throat was because they were yelling?

Since I wasn't there, I obviously don't know details. I'm just relying on what people who were there said.

Perhaps you could email the professor who witnessed the events.

Professors never lie right?

Could you point to me in the video where the protesters are forced to open their mouths?

Seriously?

You're accusing a professor of lying?

Could you point to me anything that justifies sending these people to hospital?

BTW, he's not a professor, he's an assistant professor in the department of English, and his writing style is awful.

Can you point out where in the video where a use of force is justified?

When they politely ask them to leave and they refuse.

Now, could you point out where they are forced to open their mouths?

There were so many cameras around, if it's not in the video I'm sure a picture of this particular incident will emerge.

Yes, I believe I am. I've watched two videos and looked at the extensive photograph collection here. I have seen no evidence of protestors mouths being forced open at all. How exactly would the cops accomplish that anyway? Tell them that they've got a big pot brownie for them?

And spare me the notion that professors are above lying; look up Ward Churchill or Michael Bellesiles for just two examples of prevaricating profs.

So failure to follow someone's request is now justification for violence?

This is the kind of inspired literary prose the assistant professor writes:

In a word: I am the sort of young faculty member, like many of my colleagues, this campus needs. I am an asset to the University of California at Davis. You are not.
You are responsible for it because this is what happens when UC Chancellors order police onto our campuses to disperse peaceful protesters through the use of force: students get hurt. Faculty get hurt.

I am writing to tell you in no uncertain terms that there must be space for protest on our campus. There must be space for political dissent on our campus. There must be space for civil disobedience on our campus. There must be space for students to assert their right to decide on the form of their protest, their dissent, and their civil disobedience

Give this guy a Pulitzer!

I found it!

You see, he's being forced to open his mouth!

I haven't seen video yet.

I also haven't seen anyone denying that it happen.

But seeing how people sitting on the ground are such a threat to big, armored and armed men, I supposed they're lucky they didn't get a bullet in the head.
