Merged The "official story" meme.

You're absolutely correct. 9/11 was critical to the neocon intention for Iraq.

What do you mean by that word, you seem to use it a lot in different contexts and it seems to be an all purpose put down of those you disagree with.

Not to speak on behalf of Clayton, but he is talking about the Neo-conservatives, more specifically those involved with the Project for the New American Century (PNAC), especially in the late 1990s. It's central members in W's White House were Rumsfeld, Cheney and Wolfowitz.

PNAC espoused the idea that America should exert its power as the remaining Global superpower to meet the following objectives (royal we):

* we need to increase defense spending significantly if we are to carry out our global responsibilities today and modernize our armed forces for the future;
* we need to strengthen our ties to democratic allies and to challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values;
* we need to promote the cause of political and economic freedom abroad; [and]
* we need to accept responsibility for America's unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles.

Many CT theorists blame 9/11 events on PNAC and its associates.

ETA: Throw in Daddy Bush's "New World Order" speech and you got yourself a tasty NWO CT cocktail.

That's obviously what he's doing. Yet another not only dishonest but childish tactic used often by 911 CTers.

Hold on here........Clayton tries to prove the government always lies by showing a report where the government didn't lie but naively relied on the testimony of liars and a drawing made by a newspaper?

Is this some sort of argument via dada random non-applicable examples?

To me people like Clayton hammer home the fact that 9-11 isn't at all about science or evidence for people like him, but is all about politics and world view. They don't trust the government, therefore 9-11 was an inside job. End of story. Legitimate evidence is secondary.

You know what? I don't trust the government either. That doesn't change the fact that there's NO real evidence that 9-11 was an inside job.

Miniaturize the events related to 9/11 into a crime or crimes that the authorities might encounter. Then imagine solving it as a whodunnit using the facts provided.

Guy buys two adjacent houses in an exclusive gated community and has them heavily insured.

The police chief sends out a memo revising policy that requires his personal authorization to enter the exclusive gated community.

A couple of months go by and low and behold the guy has an opportunity to collect on the policy.

The guy and his family usually sleep in one during week but were gone when the fires took place.

The people accused of the crime were mostly children of those who worked for his trusted business partner.

The people accused of the crime commandeered public buses with passengers and rode around the gated community for an hour or so before crashing into the homes. Somehow the police never got involved.

The people accused of the crime were all killed in the "suicide" attack.

Various safety features required in the exclusive gated community fail and the houses are destroyed.

One of the commandeered buses crashed into the police station. A few auxiliary policemen were killed but mostly civil service workers.

Shortly after the event the police chief rescinds the memo.

Nice story. Completely unrelated to 9-11, though. Tell me what in your silly analogy corresponds to something that actually happened on 9-11.

I know many ideologues like you; without question folks like you are the WORST investigators there can be. You're no better than your bogyman "neocons", just the opposite side of the coin.

Methinks someone has already forgotten the "Freedom Fries" nonsense.
Man why'd you have to bring that up? I managed to forget it (or at least unremember it). Thanks a lot >.>

Sure I'll go with the "Miniaturize the events" idea, but the example you provide reads worse than a dime store detective novel. So not only would you make a lousy investigator but a worse writer.

Please explain what elements correspond to what happened on 9/11.

Okay, let's go with this plan, silly as it is.

Guy buys two adjacent houses in an exclusive gated community and has them heavily insured.

Has them heavily insured after trying to get them lightly insured, and having the insurance companies insist he up his coverage.

The police chief sends out a memo revising policy that requires his personal authorization to enter the exclusive gated community.

Except that didn't actually happen.

A couple of months go by and low and behold the guy has an opportunity to collect on the policy.

And, even after collecting, he still comes up short on what he owes to rebuild the buildings. And he still has to pay the taxes and mortgages while dragging the insurance company into court to get them to actually pay off the claims.

The guy and his family usually sleep in one during week but were gone when the fires took place.

Except this didn't happen. In fact, a large number of his family members were killed in the fire.

The people accused of the crime were mostly children of those who worked for his trusted business partner.

With "mostly" being one, and he was the weird crazy kid that no one liked, who had a history of run-ins with the police, and who had been suspected of setting several fires in other communities, and who had bragged about planning more fires.

The people accused of the crime commandeered public buses with passengers and rode around the gated community for an hour or so before crashing into the homes. Somehow the police never got involved.

Because the police were actually stationed two towns over, were never notified about the buses being commandeered until they were just about to crash, and even then, they were sent to the wrong address in the confusion over what was happening. Oh, and they were all off duty, and unarmed, anyway.

The people accused of the crime were all killed in the "suicide" attack.

Which is the whole point of a suicide attack.

Various safety features required in the exclusive gated community fail and the houses are destroyed.

Of course, they failed because they were intended to protect against completely different threats, and were thus pushed far beyond their design capacities.

One of the commandeered buses crashed into the police station. A few auxiliary policemen were killed but mostly civil service workers.

Except that is wasn't the "police station", is was the police headquarters, which mostly housed the administrative staff for the force, not the beat cops who actually do police work.

Shortly after the event the police chief rescinds the memo.

Which again didn't actually happen.

Yes, a really great analogy, that.
