Actually, they do not even care that much about the "least bad" candidate. They are looking for the most marketable. That is the limit of their ability in public policy matters. They can't seem to get it through their thick heads that you cannot run a government like a business.

I understand your point, however it brings to mind something else.

I find the "suspicious timing" argument (not saying you are arguing) to be overused. Almost any fortuitous or coincidental event gets labeled "suspicious" by the side negatively affected. Nothing seems to simply happen. Bin Laden gets whacked? Suspicious timing. Nut job attempts to assassinate a politician? Suspicious timing. Hurricane strikes? You got it...

It does sound a little conspiratorial but in this case the way things played out is very fishy. This happened 12 years ago and didn't even come to light in 2004 when he ran for the senate. He got into the presidential campaign over 5 months ago and it leaks now when remarkably (no one imagined a few months ago Cain would be at the top of the polls) he's on top and it just so happens politico started it's investigation the same time someone who knew about the allegations joined the Perry campaign. It could just be some kind of perfect storm of coincidences but until we know who leaked the story it'll be an interesting thing to speculate on.

The R's have a "perfect candidate" already. The problem is that Romney is too plain, too boring, and he's got romneycare around his neck. But he is the most "marketable" candidate they have. If that's what they wanted they would just back him. The other perfect candidate is Ron Paul because he does have a few revolutionary ideas and stances that seem to be very popular with the public and on both sides of the aisle. The problem is that Paul is *********** insane and has mostly nutty and self destructive plans. But I'd love to see who he would pick as VP. Maybe we'll find out if he runs as an I.

If you were unconnected with any candidate but knew something like this about one, when would you go public with it?

When he is the joke pizza candidate or the frontrunner? There is little point to discrediting a joke candidate but a frontrunner that means something.

So we need some evidence that any candidate's people were involved in the timing.

Cain is about the only one of the front runners who will not put people to sleep or leave them clutching their sides over his utterly stupid comments.

His language skills far out-strip his ability to find workable solutions to our ecconomic woes.

(Unless, of course, you feel that the biggest ecconomic problem is that the top 1% can't get their hands on all of our money.)

A new woman alleging sexual harassment by presidential hopeful Herman Cain will break her silence at a news conference with her powerhouse attorney Gloria Allred Monday afternoon in New York City, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Politico picked up this story and has confirmed the news conference is happening later today. She will be the first to speak publicly and I can only imagine how wonderful Herman's explanation of yet another sexual harassment claim will be. When will the smoking man tell Herman it's time to go grab a cocktail and have a cigar, his presidential bid is over.

For a while I was disappointed that Sarah Palin decided not to run, and chose to just milk her rubes for cash, but then along came Herman to fill in the void of lunacy.

Okay, I haven't really followed these scandals much at all. Do any of these claims appear to have any validity at all? The timing of these are, at least, suspicious. Of course, that doesn't mean the underlying accusations aren't true.


If true, Cain's chances of success now lies with how tolerant the GOP is for Presidents with a history of improper sexual relationships. Anyone know how they feel about that?
