Occupy Wall Street better defend its identity

They could kick out the vandals and thugs, but it looks like they're too busy wearing these pants.

The movement is made up of the disparate factions of the hard left. Individually these factions are minuscule. But together they can form a crowd that big enough to get the press cameras out. The problem is the factions don't really agree on much and have been slugging it out, sometimes literally, for control.

Odd how all the negative incidents are characterized as "exceptions" and that somehow you know the true intentions of "most" of the protesters.
I have said many times on this thread that I don't know that they are exceptions. I believe that they are. That's a concession that those who are posting those anecdotes won't give you.

Actions speak louder than words sometimes.

Thank you.

Try Re-Evaluating Eisenhower. Have you read it? How about anything by Kennan?
Pathetic. All you can say is go read a book. Eisenhower was incompetent and/or didn't mean it. Never mind that the speech is actually a coherent argument and even IF what you are saying is true you are engaging in ad hominem. Never mind that you have not provided one scintilla of evidence. Look, you go read the ****** book and post the quotes that support your contention. This is a skeptics forum. It's not my job to prove your claim. For all I know you googled "Eisenhower Biography". And you actually think that is proof of something.

Seriously, I've been here 10 years and that is as pathetic as anything I've seen. And then you have the chutzpa to attack me for not accepting your pathetic non-argument.

We've been batting the true intentions idea around since this movement started. So far we've nothing concrete which is part of the intended plan of course. Anything and everything is on the table, just sidle up and pig out on whatever ideological dish suits your tastes. Here's a starter from occupy Vancouver 59 demands pdf file

Or maybe marching on another country is more to your palate, as Occupy Toronto did yesterday

Actions speak louder than words sometimes.

Yes they do.

Occupy Vancouver was ordered to remove some tarps, space out the tents and get rid of the propane tanks as first responders attending an overdose had issues getting to the tent that the victim was in. Propane tanks ? In tents ? 'nuff said. Occupy Vancouver responds with "those/your laws don't apply to us" like they're some kind of separatist movement.

Locally, power and water were cut off to the occupy group. Yesterday a protester approached a local quilt shop that adjoins the square under occupation and demanded electricity threatening that, if it wasn't delivered, the shop would find tents in front of it's doors. Local bookfacers excused this action by claiming that the protester just had a "stressful" conversation with the police.

Words are cheap and if what we're seeing at the occupy camps is any indication of what the Marxist utopia has in store for us, don't you know that you can count me out.

I got as far as "the banks be nationalized".

The constructive accomplishments of the civil rights movement for the same period of time? No one claims that this is a short term movement. I don't expect much of anything to happen before it breaks up. I expect that tensions will run high and things will get worse if things don't improve.
