What is a truther?

Just my opinion. As far as the truther label, pejorative or not they use the name to describe themselves. It's why I said in effect, that even if it's used as an insult by people here, if it's a name that is interpreted differently by the group using it, then why should they care what "debunkers" use the namesake for?

You got people like ergo who use the debunker label in the same way we use the truther label. He uses "bedunker" all the flipping time to make fun of anyone who doesn't agree with him... Other members here say "duhbunker," "Duhbunkee," or some other bastardization of the word to make it a pejorative. Most times it doesn't seem to bother people here, in fact it gets taken as a compliment.

Truthfully on a site where the majority of folks are tired of the discussions with repeat 9/11 conspiracy rhetoric, the only way you'll be able to get a "civil" exchange is when the debate's more of a one on one format, so that you don't have waves of people barraging a single person. No matter how much the respondent doesn't want to respond to an issue there are points where it's physically impossible as well to respond to everything because everyone has something they want to say against one person. Red's got his own faults but it's an observation I've seen here over the years.

I've also seen "Debugger" used in place of debunker as if it is an insult. Most people who use "debugger" generally get laughed at.

RedIbis and WTC Dust, an ex-Marine and 9/11 Truth activist is working closely with Richard Gage to put together a two-column template for respectful debate of my 235 YouTube reasons for natural collapse. The left column will have my reasons and the right column their responses. We'll see how it goes. So far there's JREF and Jeremy Hammond's blogs and the ScrewLooseChange blogs. We'll see if this new website will be evenhanded; so far it looks like it will be.

truther - in context of 911, someone who fails to think for themselves and supports or repeats lies, hearsay, and false information about 911.

truther - a person who googles 911, falls for lies found due to ignorance.

truther - a person who promises the truth will eventually come out... another lie

truther - a person who finds interesting claims about 911, they sound good, they believe them, they want to believe. These are smart people, after a rude reception from friends, or forums on line, these smart people do reality based research and figure out 911 truth is nonsense.

You guys probably wouldn't be castigated by anyone if you all took a collective step back and re-evaluated whatever it is that you believe and saw the inconsistencies and outright impossibilities of most of the foundations of your own arguments. But you guys won't do that because you're all either mentally ill at some level or you simply have too much invested to back out now (Pride goes before the fall and all of that). Don't expect the prophets of your cult to tell you the truth because they won't kill the goose that lays the golden egg and they are milking you for everything that they can for as long as they can. Being a truther has absolutely nothing to do with being skeptical. It's almost a disease that affects critical and rational thought. This is evidenced by the fact that a truther will take the ramblings of a theologian over a structural engineer. I am not discounting a persons education, but would you hire a welder to do brain surgery?


If truthers were truly skeptical, they would point that skepticism towards every theory put forth, and if they were honest about it, there is no way on earth they would be able to believeanything other than 19 terrorists hijacked 4 planes on 09/11/01, and commited an act of war against the USA, as this is what all the evidence supports, period, end of story. There is no competeing theory that better explains the events of that day. I repeat NONE.


Truthers have a need to feel important, while feeding some deep seeded hate, whether against the government, the Israeli's, or something. It's shown right here on this very page. They claimn to represent the silent majority when really they are nothing more than a random fly at a picnic. Repeating the same old crap over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Face it truthers, you bought into a lemon, a rotten one at that, so you can't even make lemonade.

I didn't say that it was a real lucrative gig but some have made at least a decent living out of it. Gage for example doesn't "Do" anything but sell books and DVD's and then go out on speaking vacations tours. All on the truthers dime. And what do the truthers have to show for it? Books and DVD's full of lies and half truths and a "Petition" that has no real destination.

Let me ask you a question. After over five years who has that "Petition" been sent to to take action on, and as a followup question, who is supposed to send it and when?

The answer so far is absolutely nobody and never. Until it's presented to someone with the power to do something it's a meaningless bit of internet trivia at best. It's just another layer of the scam that you and a few others have fallen for.

In case you might have missed it the skeptics get banned here as well when they break the rules. That there's a higher percentage of truthers is just an indication of just how unstable they can be and not much more than that. There are truthers here that have been around for years and have somehow managed to not get themselves banned no matter what idiotic theory they may profess in believing. There is no persecution or favoritism involved in the process. I can almost always spot the ones that will end up being banned sooner or later.

Sure. If foreknowledge means seeing what people who have been banned have said and how they said it and then applying those observations to later posters then sure, it's foreknowledge. It's not like there's not a written list of behaviors that will get you in trouble around here or anything like that...
