An email I recently received, with the subject "Chris Dufresne":

Dear Robert-


I only wish I had done a little research and found your website a week earlier. I too, had a phone reading with Chris Dufresne. He was supposed to call me between 6:30 and 9:30 EST. I waited 4 hours and he never called! I called the office the next day and they rescheduled me for the following Monday. The office called me early in the day on Monday to say that Chris hurt his foot and could not do a reading. They rescheduled a third time for the following week. In my brain, I actually thought that he might give me a little EXTRA time given all the reschedules and blow-off. Boy, was I wrong! Quite the contrary! Chris was a fast talker, talked over me and tried to get off the phone as fast as he could! He did not tell me one PSYCHIC thing! He was sooooo general, my clients could have done a better job! I have had psychic readings with a local psychic who spelled out the last name of my boyfriend, described him to a "T", before I ever met him! She knew my brother was going to jail 3 years before it happened, etc, etc. Chris knew NOTHING! He whisked me off the phone in 18min 53 sec. I was totally SCAMMED!!! I of course called the office the next day to complain. To appease me, the office manager Michael told me to email him 3 questions and the next time Sylvia was in, she would answer the questions.


The more I thought about this, the angrier I got! I just wanted my money back at this point and called again. This time, I talked to Matt in the office. He was snippy with me and not cooperative. His solution was to say that he would send me a form to fill out. I asked what this would do for me and he told me that it was a partial rebate form. Not good enough. My next call was to the credit card company to dispute the charges. I will fill out the report and fight for my money back. Wish me luck! If Chris hates what he does so much, he should not do it at our expense! He has no clue and is definitely NOT psychic! Buyer beware! Don't get scammed like I did. Shame on me!

So it seems that Chris - and the office - are still up to their same nonsense.

I hope to include this email in another article about Dufresne on the site in the near future.

Hmmm... If Sylvia is really obliged to answer three questions in lieu of a refund, I think we could come up with some good ones.


1. How exactly have you calculated your 85% success rate?

2. What is one case (with police confimration) that demonstrates your abilities have helped solved a crime?

3. Why have you failed to take the $1 Million Challenge despite agreeing to do so several years ago?


Anyone else want to come up with some good questions?
 
Scrut, unless they have changed policy, ALL of Browne's and Dufresne's phone readings are recorded and a complimentary copy is sent to the sitter. I have a couple of these.

You should post them! (only with the readees (is that a word?) permission, of course)

In other words, "Dufresne isn't a real psychic. I've had real psychics give me readings".:rolleyes:

To think that people like that walk among us is simply too funny.

Well, the readings cost, last time I looked:

Sylvia: $850, Chris: $450.

The tapes are said to be complimentary, nut that is probably so that they will not have to reimburse the sitter if the tape arrives blank or badly distorted (something a couple of correspondents said happened to them).

Thanks! I hope to write another article about Chris Dufresne soon, but there are technical obstacles I need to overcome, which is why the site has not been updated in so long.

As for my health, and thanks for your concern, here's the scoop:

I had that massive stroke in August 2008, and the left side of my body remains largely non-functioning. PT (Physical Therapy) and OT (Occupational Therapy) have helped, but I live my life in a motorized wheelchair. I am also now on a combination of three different blood pressure meds, which have my insanely high blood pressure (which caused the stroke) under control.

Then, in June 2011, I had a (mild) heart attack. A subsequent Angiogram showed that my coronary arteries were severely narrowed (the surgeon who performed the angiogram told me that I had the coronary arteries of an 84-year-old man (I am 53 years old).

The upside of the heart attack was that it was the "wake-up call" that I needed to finally change my eating habits. I have lost 33 lbs. since then, and am still losing... It was a lifetime of eating foods loaded with fat and sodium which led to both the stroke and the heart attack. If I'd had the good sense to eat this way years ago, I would probably have never had either. I'm also under close care by a physician (something else I foolishly avoided for decades), and all of the tests he has ordered up recently (blood panels, sonograms of my liver/kidneys/pancreas/gallbladder, a colonoscopy) have come back as "Normal".

So yes, I am "on the mend", but the damage done by decades of neglect will not be undone overnight.
