MOJO Performance wristbands are embedded with holographic technology that has been used by elite athletes for years. Now, this performance enhancing technology is available for the rest of us!

The holographic discs used in MOJO energetic wristbands are programmed to work with your body's natural frequencies resulting in peak performance and instant results for most people. Wearing Mojo holograms instantly improves balance, strength, flexibility, energy and focus.

Don't ya just love em ! I purchased four of these bad boys, two for the daytime and two for the nighttime because someone told me they wear out and need to rest. I thought if they are really that good and the shop girl swears by em, then Im doubling up. Best 120 bucks I ever paid ........

Used to see people wearing them all up their arms, to you know, increase the effects...

that's just a production issue to keep costs down. Its the "levels" and resolution of the holo optical circuit which predicts the energy radiation that counts. What it sits on makes no difference. Though best not to wear in the shower.

You have to tune it in though. If you get one that is not well tuned that sucker can take you out badly. There should be a warning on the box about that.

I'm surprised Power Balance is still allowed to sell these things...

There is not a shred of evidence that can support their claims, even evoking the placebo effect is a stretch.

"In 2006, two brothers with a passion for competitive sports pursued their idea to blend the powers of Eastern Philosophy and Western Science with Innovative Technologies to deliver products that improve and enhance people's lives."

"Eastern Philosophy"

"No other Performance Technlology accessory can match the roster of hundreds of top professional athletes (and growing!) and millions of satisfied customers all over the world."

Throw in the appeal to authority and appeal to the people fallacies for good measure.

Well, if it was Western Philosophy it would have to be pretty Wizard. You upset they went with pretty Wu Jen?

wow,

Isn't science just wonderful. They keep discovering new stuff ever day, and hay-ho, we find it was already discovered by ancient eastern dudes long ago. AND, those beardy ancient mystical dudes didn't even understand it was science they was inventing!

When I was checking them out, the shop girl told me that they definitely worked. When I told her that its a rather obvious con and she needed to apply some critical thinking skills, there followed a rather oppressive silence from the queue of shoppers followed by a hard dig in the ribs from my wife.

I point out the rather large elephant in the room and got the feeling I was gonna be lynched by an angry mob.

I think your reaction was warranted.

I had a similar case with a fellow student who wore them at school. I didn't exactly let him down slowly, I outright told him that 'they were a scam, and he wasted a lot of money for a product that does not work' and that he should stop buying them.

In some ways it would have been better to let him live happily with his delusion, but who knows, I might have given him a well needed eye opening.

Unfortunately our best scientific understandings of the world are so poorly understood by a great many people that everyday technology leads to the invocation of Clarke's Third Law -"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic". Without an understanding of basic concepts in physics, descriptions of the workings of either a mobile phone or one of these holographic wristbands sound like equally impressive arcane utterances.
