Merged Does CERN prove Einstein wrong?

All velocities are relative according to SR! What I said to the scientist was that the velocity between the photons as the observer sees it is 2c, and he said, no according to SR the velocity between them is 1c as the observer sees it. He said that when adding velocities of several objects, such as in Quantum ElectroDynamics, they have to be added relativistically, not just adding them like c + c = 2c.

That wasn't what you quoted! I don't believe you asked him that specific question from a static observer.

If you have the power to begin wars and to supress true science with phony science despite millions of scientists carrying out research, some disgruntled masses will likely be easy to manipulate.

Who would these mysterious people be?

The international bankers (banksters)! Or some powers even above that. It is well known nowadays that bankers throughout history have made a lot of money and increased their power massively by funding both sides of wars.

Max Keiser talks about this here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOP6I9ePdqs

I'll tell you what, I can't even imagine living in Ander's world where all the scientists on Earth are in on some kind of plot to fake nuclear bombs. Worse, they are all apparently in on the plot to hoax the WTC collapses.

Hell, I'd be paranoid too

There's also been crazy people throughout history who believe ridiculous things.

But AL doesn't really believe anything he posts. He just finds the wackiest crap he can find and argues it. A conspiracy devil's advocate, if you will.

Ah, the bill smith syndrome. To be honest I don't know what's worse. Being crazy or a troll.

I asked him about the relative velocity according to SR between two photons moving in opposite directions as measured by an external observer.

And he even said that when more than two objects are involved, they too must be added relativistically, not just like c+c = 2c.

This was a funny part:

"Let's say we produce a pulse of light into space by quickly flashing a torch (flashlight) on and off. We then follow the beam of light in a very fast rocket moving at 100,000 km per second. How fast is the light beam moving away from us? Common sense tells us that it is moving away from us 300,000 km minus 100,000 km per second. In other words, the light beam is 200,000 km per second faster than us. Wrong! " [my emphasis] -- http://www.btinternet.com/~j.doyle/SR/sr2.htm

So common sense becomes wrong. :D Oh, what a con artist Einstein was. He could even make people abandon their common sense.

They were the commentators words!

Common sense should add the proviso that you need to understand time dilation first. How is that something that can be applied to the word 'common'?

What Max Keiser talked about in that video was historical facts. It's a common trick to fund both sides in wars.

What exactly does that have to do with nuclear weapons? They, like funding both sides of wars has been happening for thousands of years, are a fact.

Still calling BS.

What shadowy international cabal of bankers are we talking about? I'm not aware of any such bank. Names, or they don't exist.

If you believe there is no hidden level of scientific knowledge then isn't that risking being too gullible? If you see paranoia everywhere you will remain gullible and susceptible to Big Lies all the time.

I would think that one can go too far either way. If one believes there is NO hidden level of scientific knowledge, or if one believes in the level of hidden scientific knowledge that you do BOTH risks being too gullible.

you can be gullible by believing too much as well as not believing enough.

The "big lie" can be many things.

I would say that being a troll is worse; at least a crazy person may eventually realize they are ill and seek help. That being said, sometimes troll threads lead to very interesting posts from people who know what the hell they are talking about. For instance, I've learned some interesting physics from this thread, and a lot about Apollo from the hoax thread.

If there is any information about who owns all the debt in the world, then the top owners could be identified. I doubt however that such statistics is available to the public.

Sorry, my BS meter just went off. I don't believe you.

'My' astrophysicist says this...

Interesting point. That is not the same answer I got. I have sent my source a question about this and included that link. If he agrees then the confusion is most likely solved. And that I hadn't formulated my initial question correctly or something like that. If he disagrees however then that could be interesting indeed.

The first years after the 9/11 attacks I totally believed in the official 9/11 story. It didn't even enter my mind to question it. I would say that I was way too gullible then. Today I look at all kinds of speculative theories. But I'm willing to drop theories if they turn out to likely be false.

Not really. This isn't bleeding-edge; this is basic comprehension of special relativity, necessary to perform any of the calculations done on a daily basis by astronomers, particle physicists, or even people designing GPS systems.

Any college student with a physics background should be able to give you the same answer. That you appear to have found someone who when given some phrasing of a question disagrees is, well, of no importance.
