Amanda Knox 'is lucky Italy doesn't have death penalty'
Prosecutor in Meredith Kercher murder appeal reminds court Knox and Raffaele Sollecito would risk lethal injection in US

The prosecution has wound up its case against Amanda Knox by saying that "fortunately" she and her Italian former boyfriend could not be executed for the murder of British student Meredith Kercher.

It was a reminder that, in her US home state of Washington, Knox would risk lethal injection or even the gallows if her appeal were rejected. Last week, the prosecution asked for the sentences passed on Knox and Raffaele Sollecito to be increased to life.

"They killed [Kercher] for nothing," said prosecution counsel Manuela Comodi. "But they killed her. And it is for that reason they should be found guilty and given the maximum sentence which, fortunately, in Italy is not the death sentence."

It's exciting to read that in court it has finally been mentioned that deliberate evidence planting might have taken place. Not just that contamination may have occurred.

For what other reason would a bra clasp have not just been picked up, using new, sterile tweazers and then placed in a new, paper envelope and sealed immediately?

Reading these tweets, I'm pretty amazed they're allowed to talk about private jets and the Kerchers having trouble finding a flight. How is this kind of nonsense allowed to be talked about in court? What does that have to do with evidence at trial?

I think that after the autopsy photo stunt pulled by Maresca, the gloves are off.

Raffaele's lawyers doing great devastating puny prosecution's arguments so far.
But Mignini and his minions spilled so much bull crap that it will take half a day tomorrow, too, I'm afraid.
There is still the break-in nonsense to cover.
And lil' witch's lawyers have a lot of their work to do, too.

So, it appears frome the tweets (Barbie's, so could be wrong) that Comodi has been saying to the jury, look, if you find her not guilty, she's going to run away, flee Italy on her private jet, and we don't have an extradition treaty with the US, so when the Supreme Court overturns this verdict, we won't be able to get her back.

If she did say this, and the tweets are accurate about this line of argument, then this is a big deal. This would be a big test for the media. One of the prosecutors lying in open court in order to manipulate a jury?

Speaking not only for myself, but commenters everywhere.
Probably all of us would be interested in improving our own writing styles.
This so as to avoid uncivil impolite sniping, borderline off topic rants, redundant lengthy pontifications, making predictions "with absolute certainty" of future totally unpredictable events, and so on.

Today, as in past, I cannot help noticing that yet again Blogger SfarzoTM writings about the case are repeatedly exalted and heralded here (again).
Specifically, his last post being "his best ever" or slightly more reasonably "one of his best".

Therefore, Sfarzo might consider marketing himself as an educator for writer wannabes worldwide when his 15 minutes of fame from this case expires.

This of course assumes:

1) Mr Sfarzo does errr...'bite off more than he can chew'.. when confronting cops (again)
2) Mr Sfarzo does not again run afoul of the law with his writings and have to shut down (again).
3) Mr Fisher/FischerTM remains available to again be sole rescuer of Sfarzo's writings if he is shut down, (again).

I thought this tweet was funny: Press trying to square Comodi's comment that there is no extradition agreement between Italy and USA. Is there an accord? #amandaknox.

Uh, first of all, Comodi is a lawyer. Maybe she should have looked this up before she made this statement in court. Secondly, here is a copy of the extradition treaty.

Edit: I see Doug addressed this as well.
