Judge suggests only one lawyer per side for rebuttals. #amandaknox Lots of objection.-BarbieLN

I'll bet that got the lawyers rattled....who will be "the One"?

LUMUBA OUTSIDE COURTHOUSE “I AM THE LIVING PROOF KNOX IS A LIAR, I WENT TO PRISON 4 NOTHING. I THINK HER FIRST VERDICT WILL BE UPHELD."

Unbelievable.

What is he doing lobbying? Lumumba should put a cork in it. Dude, your 15 minutes of fame are about over.

Thank you Popper and RWVBWL.

Interesting read. The defense is sane and reasonable. Devoid of name-calling and theatrics, exaggeration and bombast. Let us hope the jury prefers reason to histrionics.

I did not know Filomena's window was the ONLY one without a grid.

and the the outside set of shutters didnt fully close due to wood swelling, per Filomenas testimony,.
( an invitation to a burglar)

Thanks---so Knox will speak today, I presume, and then Fri rebuttal, Mon verdict. (?)

I was just posting, Barbie mentioned possible rebuttal on Saturday also?

No clarity yet.... except seems consistent posting that Monday is the verdict.

I did not know Filomena's window was the ONLY one without a grid.

As it was not the only one.

The kitchen window from the terrace, Amanda's window and Meredith's window were also without grids.

Real burglars, who entered the house during the trial twice, used the kitchen window both times.

Irresponsibly they did not read this forum. :D

Apparently he doesn't think Pacelli made the point forcefully enough in court

I do think there's an element of the 15 mins of fame syndrome (with his insistence of a familial connection with Patrice Lumumba to Katie Crouch recently, even though this was revealed as false quite a while ago).
But I think he's too incensed by the apparent injustice to be able to see Amanda's 'confession / accusation' for what it is.
But this behaviour, his attitude, all of it will probably mean he will be bitter and angry for most of his life. One can only hope he eventually directs this towards those who are truly to blame for his treatment.

I used to have more sympathy for him, as someone who was mistakenly caught up in this tragedy, especially for having his business taken away (not that going to jail was OK, but it was temporary).

What I don't have sympathy for is his lobbying for Amanda to go to jail for life for a crime she clearly did not commit, just so he can (maybe) get some money out of it. Especially when he knows full well how the police treated both of them. This guy knows what really happened in that interrogation, but he doesn't care. It's his chance to get revenge, and he can't stop pushing for that.

But why would you put the lamp behind the door in this case?

You wouldn't. The lamp must have gotten there some other way. Perhaps it fell off the desk in the struggle, pushed back towards the bed when Rudy goes out for towels and finally smashed into the wall when the door is kicked open the next day. I din't believe the bulb would have survived. Was the lamp ever tested?

Thank you for posting that from Popper and special thanks to Popper, who may well be banned from that place after posting such an excellent translation of what was said! Interesting to note that practically everything the defence have argued thus far has been a testament to knowledgeable posters on this thread, who have covered it so extensively and so accurately.

This little snippet was very interesting and something I do not recall:

''...Also on 4/11/2007. There is a recording at police. The marche region guys. One boy says "is it premeditated?" "no, it is one who knew noone was there, or crazy". "which is the window of Meredith? ... it is the room of Marta's room [ girl living there before]" "there is a little window even I went up there once"

I thought I read that only the prosecution would be allowed rebuttals? Could someone please clarify?

Thanks in advance!

This guy feels no more empathy than the other sociopaths associated with this case. Perugia appears to be a hyena pit.

Yes, it does. thanks very much...
no prob....

What do you think of Hellman pushing the verdict out to Monday?
That was a surprise from the rushed approach he was taking. Hopefully it was just courtesy for the Kerchers and not a need for problems.

Rebuttals are scheduled for Friday. Knox and Sollecito will give their final statements on Monday before the jury goes to deliberation to decide a verdict. Members of the Kercher family are expected to attend.

This looks like a final schedule.

It's provincialism. None of them are very worldly or experienced people, so what intelligence they possess is stunted.

I've always had a notion Rudy was looking under the bed. Its common in small rooms like that people use beneath the bed as some "safe" place for valuables.

as for why use the next rooms lamp? Maybe Merediths bulb was burnt out, or broken due to the attack.

Rudy mentioned when he came out of the bathroom by Lauras, there was only one light on in the cottage and that was in Merediths room. Not that he can be believed for any reason, but he throws odd things in his lies that cause conflicting thoughts.

This looks like a final schedule.

A verdict on a Saturday in a party town like Perugia, noooooooot a good idea.

I'm not impressed with the counter arguments made by the defense in response to the luminol "evidence". It should have been stressed that Luminol reacts to many substances and is merely a presumptive test for blood. More importantly though is the fact that Amanda's actual print has a second toe noticeably bigger than her big toe whereas the only clear footprint does not. This really should have been stressed also.
